Job Description

The Retail Sales Associate is responsible for providing superior service to both the internal and external customer. They are also responsible for greeting customers, cash register transactions, gift-wrapping, stocking sales floor, maintaining a clean working environment and assisting guests with their needs.

The Retail Sales Associate:

  • Uses the equipment associated with the position, including electronic cash register, 10-key adding machine, credit card machines, ticket machine, computer and keyboard.
  • Communicates effectively with customers and all levels of employees.
  • Reviews and comprehends all necessary documentation.
  • Inspects and maintains areas for which responsible, as well as ability to distinguish between different denominations of currency and make change.
  • Effectively and efficiently moves around work area.
Qualifications
  • This position requires physical mobility, including, but not limited to, lifting, carrying and pushing/pulling up to 50 pounds.  These actions are required in order to clean, maintain and stock merchandise, as well as to perform gift-wrapping duties.
  • This position operates in a working environment that is subject to varying levels of crowds, noise and smoke, the severity of which depends upon customer volume.
  • Must be flexible to work varying shifts and time schedules as needed.
  • Basic math skills and 10-key experience preferred. 
  • Effective verbal communication and customer service skills. 
  • Prior money-handling experience required.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain all licenses / certifications per Federal, State, and Gaming regulations.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age. 

These skills and abilities are typically acquired through the completion of a high school degree or equivalent, as well as through nine (9) months of on-the-job training or equivalent experience.
