Job description

Overview

The National Sales Manager – Robotics & Innovation will lead the commercialization and growth of BISSELL Commercial’s robotic and advanced cleaning solutions across the U.S. This role owns national revenue targets for emerging technologies, drives adoption through distributor and end-user partnerships, and plays a critical role in shaping go-to-market strategy for innovation-driven categories.

The ideal candidate will bring experience working with robotics and connected (IoT) devices, including autonomous equipment and data-driven solutions, and leverages that expertise to accelerate adoption, deliver compelling ROI-based selling, and scale deployments across key verticals.

This individual will work cross-functionally with Sales, Product Management, Marketing, and Engineering to accelerate market penetration, develop scalable programs, and position BISSELL as a leader in automated cleaning solutions.

Responsibilities Revenue Ownership & Growth Strategy
  • Own national revenue, pipeline, and profitability targets for robotics and innovation platforms
  • Develop and execute go-to-market strategies to scale adoption of robotic cleaning equipment
  • Identify and prioritize key verticals (Jan/San, Healthcare, Education, Retail, Logistics, etc.)
  • Drive category growth and position BISSELL as a top-tier provider in automated cleaning
Business Development & End-User Adoption
  • Lead new business development focused on robotics and emerging technologies
  • Identify, develop, and convert high-value end-user opportunities into pilots and national programs
  • Own pilot strategy, execution, and conversion to long-term contracts
  • Deliver compelling ROI-based selling (labor savings, productivity, TCO)
  • Conduct high-impact demos, ride-alongs, and field engagements to accelerate adoption
  • Track pilot performance, conversion rates, and program ROI
Distributor & Partner Leadership
  • Partner with national and regional distributors to build robotics pipeline and capability
  • Train and enable distributor sales teams on robotic solutions and value propositions
  • Collaborate with broker network (e.g., Avision) to drive coverage and execution
  • Establish robotics “centers of excellence” within key distributor partners
Innovation Commercialization
  • Serve as the commercial lead for new product launches (e.g., autonomous scrubbers, AI-enabled solutions)
  • Provide field feedback to Product and Engineering teams to inform roadmap and enhancements
  • Develop scalable programs (leasing, service plans, pilot frameworks) to reduce adoption barriers
  • Support pricing strategy, competitive positioning, and category storytelling
Cross‑Functional Collaboration
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with marketing, product management, supply chain, and finance to support regional growth initiatives and program execution.
Additional Responsibilities
  • Perform additional duties as assigned, including occasional lifting of product packages.
Qualifications REQUIRED EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • Experience working with robotics and IoT-enabled devices, including autonomous cleaning equipment, connected platforms, and remote monitoring/analytics solutions
  • 7-10 years of progressive sales experience, including:
    • National account or strategic sales leadership
    • Commercial equipment, robotics, or technology-driven solutions (preferred)
  • Proven success launching or scaling new product categories
  • Strong experience with distributor-based sales models
  • Demonstrated ability to sell complex solutions with ROI justification
  • Experience leading pilots, programs, and multi-location rollouts
SKILLS REQUIRED
  • Ability to function as a field manager facilitating processes and performance among disparate functional departments and outside resources.
    • Travel – Up to 75%

This position requires the ability to manage the flow of data, perform analysis, generate summary reports and communicate by voice or data while being connected in the office, at home or while travelling by laptop or mobile device regularly without regard to time zone or day of the week.
