Job description

This is a full-time position as the lead teacher in a toddler (18-24 months) classroom of a busy preschool.

Responsibilities include:

  • Implementing a provided curriculum of engaging and developmentally appropriate activities that encourage exploration and learning.

  • Providing basic care, including feeding, diapering, and comforting toddlers.

  • Maintaining a clean, safe, and organized classroom environment, and monitoring the children's safety at all times, including following childcare licensing protocols and allergy, health & hygiene protocols.

  • Maintaining open communication with parents regarding their child's daily activities, milestones, progress, and any concerns, via our childcare software (Brightwheel). Identifying any special needs or developmental delays, and communicating with parents about any concerns with professionality and confidentiality. 

  • Collaboration with assistants, other teachers, and staff, as a "team player" and leader who creates a positive environment in the classroom and ensures a cohesive and consistent learning experience for the children.

Requirements include:

  • The ability to communicate effectively in spoken and written English with colleagues and parents

  • The physical abilities to care for small children, including lifting, carrying, and diapering them as necessary

  • A deep understanding of the developmental stages of toddlers and preschoolers

  • A patient, calm, and flexible attitude

  • Currently certified to provide early childhood education with the Nevada Department of Education, OR ability to complete the required training before the start of the position

The ideal candidate will have several years of experience working with young children, a positive and collaborative outlook, and a deep sense of responsibility and love for the children in her care.
