Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive, confidential patient records that align with established standards of practice, alongside federal and state regulations.
  • Conduct thorough assessments of students' mental health needs, delivering individualized counseling and therapy sessions that address a variety of health concerns, including anxiety, depression, and substance abuse.
  • Collaborate with faculty and staff to provide training sessions and outreach programs addressing mental health issues, creating a more informed community.
  • Implement and lead wellness initiatives such as mental health outreach events that promote the importance of mental health and preventive care.
  • Provide immediate crisis counseling and interventions for students in distress, ensuring effective support during mental health emergencies.
  • Assist faculty and administration in responding to student support referrals using the Maxient system, ensuring timely updates and records management.
Patient Population / Client Focus

Your primary focus will be on supporting students within a collegiate context, ensuring they receive the mental health support necessary for academic success and personal growth. You will engage with young adults facing a variety of challenges, including transitional stressors, academic pressures, and life-stage-related mental health issues. Your skills will provide vital support that encourages retention, engagement, and overall mental health stability.

Qualifications
  • A Master’s degree in Counseling, Clinical Psychology, Social Work, or a closely related field is required.
  • Active state licensure as an LCSW, LMFT, LPCC, or equivalent is mandatory; candidates with associate licenses will not be considered.
  • Proficient computer skills, including experience with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment and manage a varied caseload.
  • Strong commitment to maintaining confidentiality and ethical counseling practices.
Preferred Experience
  • Experience working with geriatric populations is desirable but not essential.
