These jobs are funded by federal or state work-study programs and are available both on-campus and with approved off-campus employers. Students must apply for financial aid and demonstrate financial need to qualify for work-study positions. Work hours are flexible to accommodate class schedules, and the income earned does not count against future financial aid eligibility. These jobs can provide valuable skills and networking opportunities while helping to offset the cost of college.

ASU Work Study students typically balance administrative, research, or customer service tasks with their academic schedules. Common responsibilities may include data entry, assisting with events, supporting faculty, or providing front-desk service. A key challenge is managing time effectively between coursework and work hours, as well as adapting to the professional expectations of campus departments. However, these roles offer valuable hands-on experience, opportunities to build professional relationships, and insight into campus operations.
