Kelly® Science & Clinical is seeking an Associate Scientist for a 4-month contract position at a cutting-edge client site in Irvine, CA. Pay: $30.50–$32.50/ hour
Schedule: Mon-Fri Onsite
Overview
Our Client is an industry-leading organization supporting advanced scientific research and product development within the life sciences sector.
In this role, you will support cell biology research and development activities by maintaining mammalian cell cultures, preparing reagents and media, performing laboratory assays, and contributing to experimental planning, data analysis, and reporting.
Responsibilities:
  • Maintain mammalian cell cultures and cell line banks
  • Perform supporting experiments in cell biology research, product development, technical product support, and process improvement initiatives
  • Formulate and prepare reagents and cell culture media
  • Perform a variety of chemical and biological assays
  • Conduct basic data analysis and generate summary data reports
  • Contribute to experimental design and planning activities
  • Support the preparation of formal reports and presentations
  • Assist with troubleshooting laboratory equipment and experimental issues
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Basic Life Science, Applied Life Science, Chemistry, or a related field required
  • 2 years of relevant CHO cell culture laboratory experience
  • Knowledge of general laboratory safety and good record?keeping practices
  • Ability to learn quickly and acquire new technical knowledge and skills
  • Demonstrated problem solving skills
  • General knowledge of cell culture, chemistry, biochemistry, and microbiology
  • Working knowledge of basic laboratory equipment such as balances and pH meters
  • Familiarity with commonly used experimental and research concepts, practices, and procedures
  • General knowledge of computer systems and productivity software
  • Ability to speak, read, and write English fluently
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
