What is an associate web developer?

An associate web developer is a junior-level web developer who tends to the basic responsibilities of the team. As an associate developer, you determine the requirements of the client, pick out team members, and delegate development tasks to each of them. Most of your duties cover the introductory and testing phases of a given project because you have to make sure every part of the website works as it should. You ensure that the website or application supports migration; users need to be able to access the site or app from multiple operating systems. Associate web developers work as part of a team rather than coding the entire site.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as an associate web developer, and why are they important?

To thrive as an Associate Web Developer, you need a solid understanding of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and basic web development concepts, often supported by a relevant degree or coding bootcamp. Familiarity with tools such as version control systems (like Git), content management systems, and frameworks like React or Angular is highly beneficial. Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and effective communication set standout candidates apart in collaborative and fast-paced environments. These skills are crucial for building functional, user-friendly websites and contributing effectively to team-based projects.

How do associate web developers typically collaborate with designers and senior developers on projects?

Associate Web Developers frequently work closely with UX/UI designers to translate design mockups into responsive web pages and user interfaces. They also collaborate with senior developers during code reviews, project planning, and troubleshooting sessions, gaining valuable feedback and guidance. This teamwork fosters a supportive environment where junior team members can develop their technical skills and learn industry best practices while ensuring the final product meets both technical and design specifications.

Can I be an associate web developer with no experience?

An associate web developer role typically requires some foundational knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, but many employers are willing to consider candidates with little to no professional experience if they demonstrate strong problem-solving skills and a willingness to learn. Entry-level positions often focus on training and mentorship, making it possible to start without prior work experience in the field.

Associate Web Development Software Engineer (SDK)

Eulerity

New York, NY • Hybrid

Full-time

Job description

Eulerity is a fast-growing marketing technology company transforming how franchises and small businesses approach digital advertising. Built by former leaders from Google, Facebook, and Yahoo!, our platform combines decades of experience in engineering and marketing to deliver an industry-leading, automated solution. We make it easy to plan, launch, and analyze paid campaigns across Google Search, Meta (Facebook/Instagram), Display, Video, and organic social - all from one intuitive platform. We believe breakthrough results happen when technology, strategy, and creativity come together. By combining automation with human insight, we empower brands to scale smarter, move faster, and grow stronger. Internally, we're just as committed to growth. We cultivate a culture where ambitious, curious, and driven individuals are empowered to lead, learn, and elevate those around them.

Your Role

  • Designing, building, and shipping developer-facing SDKs consumed by other engineers.
  • Owning the SDK as a product: the public API surface, TypeScript types, semantic versioning, packaging/distribution, backwards compatibility, and documentation.
  • Building and maintaining AI-powered automation workflows that connect our product to internal and external systems.
  • Developing and testing new features using AI-assisted tooling and autonomous agents, maintaining the codebase, integrating with APIs and data models, and owning the PR lifecycle (writing, reviewing, and incorporating feedback).
  • Collaborating across web, mobile, and backend teams to align on best practices, shared architecture, and product direction.
  • Partnering with Product and Design to translate designs and prototypes into shipped solutions for our users and the engineers who build on our SDK.

About You

  • SDK/library builder. You design clean, intuitive, hard-to-misuse APIs and think about the developer on the other side of your interface.
  • AI-first engineer. You've set up custom automation workflows (e.g., wiring Claude or similar LLMs into forms, APIs, or internal tools to replace manual work).
  • A self-starter who can take ownership of a project and work independently and collaboratively.
  • Rigorous about reviewing AI-generated output and taking full ownership of the code you ship.
  • Good attention to detail and initiative.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills - including the ability to document an SDK so another engineer can succeed with it.

Requirements

  • Proven experience designing and shipping a developer-facing SDK, library, or public API consumed by other engineers - including the public API/interface design, semantic versioning, and backwards-compatibility discipline that come with it.
  • Strong separation-of-concerns judgment - able to design framework-agnostic core logic (data, state, domain types) cleanly decoupled from thin, framework-specific bindings, so the same core can support multiple front-end frameworks over time.
  • Experience packaging and distributing libraries: bundling (e.g., tsup, Rollup, Vite), ESM/CJS output, tree-shaking and bundle-size awareness, and npm publishing.
  • 2-3 years of professional experience with React & TypeScript, including building reusable, composable components and using strong types as a public contract.
  • Well-versed in building custom AI automation workflows (LLM API integrations, agentic tooling, or similar).
  • Solid understanding of fundamentals (HTML/CSS/JavaScript, working with APIs).
  • Familiarity with standard engineering workflows (PRs, code review, agile).
  • Strong written communication, including clear technical documentation.
  • Based in the NYC metro area and able to work hybrid from our NYC office.
  • Authorized to work in the US.

A Strong Plus

  • Experience building embeddable / third-party components - style and CSS isolation (shadow DOM or scoped styles), theming and customization, and secure auth/token handling inside a host app.
  • Monorepo and release tooling (e.g., Changesets, Turborepo, Nx) and automated CI release pipelines.
  • Backend / full-stack work (Java).
  • Technical writing and developer documentation experience.

Benefits:

  • Comprehensive benefits
    • Medical
    • Dental
    • Vision
  • Unlimited PTO
  • In-office lunch stipend and unlimited snacks
  • Commuter benefits
  • 401(k) with company match
  • Hybrid model (3x in office per week)
  • Summer Fridays

Compensation:

Our salary ranges are based on paying competitively for our company's size and industry, and are one part of the total compensation package that also includes benefits, perks and other opportunities at Eulerity. The expected range for this role is $100,000 - $125,000, commensurate with experience and level.
