Location: Rockville, MD (Onsite, 5 days per week)

Position Overview: The AV Support Technician, Senior supports the installation, configuration, operation, disassembly, and troubleshooting of audio-visual equipment. This role involves performing production editing, routine maintenance, and inventory tracking. The AV Technician coordinates with clients on the placement and integration of AV equipment and ensures the functionality of projectors, lighting, microphones, sound mixing, recording, and video-conferencing equipment for live events and meetings. This position is responsible for resolving escalated complex issues, validating and coordinating work, recommending process improvements, and serving as a knowledge resource. The Telecommunications and Video Conferencing Technical also researches and leads the implementation of new technologies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical guidance and support to team members.
  • Resolve escalated issues and validate the work performed by the team.
  • Recommend process improvements to enhance efficiency and service quality.
  • Coordinate with clients to understand their AV requirements.
  • Ensure proper placement and integration of AV equipment for optimal functionality.
  • Communicate with clients to ensure satisfaction with AV services provided.
  • Oversee the installation, configuration, operation, and disassembly of AV equipment.
  • Perform routine maintenance and troubleshoot AV equipment issues.
  • Track inventory and ensure the availability of necessary equipment and supplies.
  • Coordinate with vendors and third parties for equipment repairs and replacements.
  • Perform production editing for AV projects.
  • Ensure high-quality audio and video output for live events and recordings.
  • Monitor live events and meetings to provide immediate technical support as needed.
  • Research and evaluate new AV technologies.
  • Support the implementation of new technologies to enhance AV services.
  • Provide technical expertise, guidance, and support for telecommunications and virtual meeting services.
  • Support and maintain conference room technologies, including audio amplification, conference phones, and data projection.
  • Monitor and support audio and web conferencing platforms, such as Adobe Connect and Microsoft Skype/Teams.
  • Provide system administration and technical support for video teleconferencing infrastructure.
  • Support webcasting services, including setup, operation, and logistics.
  • Track and document all AV requests and activities.
  • Provide monthly metrics and reports on AV support services.
  • Maintain accurate records of inventory, maintenance, and technical issues.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree Multimedia or in a related field or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in AV technical support and supervision.
  • Certification ( atleast one certification should be held) 
    • Microsoft 365 Certified: Teams Administrator Associate (MS 700)
    • Zoom Certified (Zoom Administrator or Zoom Rooms certification)
    • CompTIA Network+
    • ITIL 4
    • CompTIA Security+ 
  • Thorough knowledge of AV equipment, including projectors, lighting, microphones, sound mixing, recording, and video-conferencing equipment.
  • Experience with production editing and routine maintenance of AV equipment.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and client coordination abilities.
  • Experience with telecommunications, web conferencing, and video teleconferencing platforms.
  • Knowledge of new AV technologies and their implementation.
  • Experience with Adobe Connect, Microsoft Teams, and Polycom VTC systems.
  • Experience with managing webcasting services.
  • Knowledge of mobile phone support and troubleshooting.

Compensation and Benefits 

The projected compensation range for this position is $70,000 to $78,000 year benchmarked in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. Salary at LCG is determined by various factors, including but not limited to role, location, the combination of education/training, knowledge, skills, competencies, certifications, and work experience.
