We are looking for a talented Vibration Test Technician, III you will serve as a senior technical resource responsible for independently executing complex vibration, shock and environmental durability tests using electrodynamic shakers, 3D scanners, thermal shock chambers and mechanical shock equipment. You will lead advanced troubleshooting, mentor junior technicians, interface directly with customers and engineers, and ensure test programs meet all technical, safety, and quality requirements. This role requires extensive technical expertise, strong analytical skills, and the ability to manage multiple high-priority test programs with minimal supervision.
Main Responsibilities:
  • Lead complex test setups for mechanical, hydraulic, and electrodynamic systems in accordance with engineering specifications, standards and customer requirements.
  • Develop, program, and optimize advanced vibration profiles using Dactron, Vibration Research, and other controller platforms.
  • Design, validate, and approve test fixtures, ensuring structural integrity, proper mounting, and compliance with test specifications.
  • Serve as the primary troubleshooter for equipment, instrumentation, and test anomalies, performing root-cause analysis and implementing corrective actions.
  • Independently monitor and adjust machine-controlled test equipment to ensure accurate, stable, and repeatable test performance.
  • Interpret complex test results, identify trends, and verify data accuracy prior to engineering review.
  • Conduct advanced inspections to determine the nature And cause of part failures, defects, or malfunctions.
  • Prepare detailed technical reports, including photos, data summaries, observations, and recommendations.
  • Train and mentor Level 1 and Level 2 technicians, providing guidance on equipment operation, safety, and best practices.
  • Collaborate directly with customers and engineers to clarify requirements, resolve issues, and support test planning.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives, including equipment upgrades, and process improvements.
  • Ensure strict adherence to safety protocols, including lockout/tagout, PPE usage, and hazard awareness.
  • Perform cross-functional support for setups, teardowns, and special projects across the laboratory.

Qualifications:
  • Associate's Degree of Science in Engineering Technology or a related field preferred; equivalent experience considered.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in an automotive engineering laboratory or related testing environment.
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience operating vibration test equipment, including electrodynamic shaker tables, thermal shock, and mechanical shock systems.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
  • Advanced knowledge of test standards such as MIL-STD-810, ISO 16750, IEC60068, and OEM-specific procedures.
  • Strong proficiency in machine troubleshooting, instrumentation setup, accelerometers, load cells, and data acquisition systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and test specifications.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications and computer-based file structures; experience with data analysis tools preferred.
  • Strong analytical, observational, and communication skills.
  • Proven ability to identify complex problems, evaluate options, and implement effective solutions.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple test programs, and meet customer timelines.
  • Strong organizational and documentation skills with high attention to detail.
