Who are we?

Mangrove Lithium, a Vancouver based company, has developed a breakthrough platform for the most cost-effective production of battery grade lithium hydroxide and carbonate from diverse input streams and assets. Mangrove's modular solution can be scaled to any capacity and co-located with upstream lithium producers or cathode and cell manufacturers. The platform technology is being commercialized for the conversion of waste brines to chemicals and desalinated water. The company recently attracted funding through Breakthrough Energy, BMW iVentures, and BDC Capital and is working towards the deployment of

a first-of-a-kind commercial plant.

Position

We are looking foradedicatedR&D Technicianresponsible for conducting tests usingelectrochemicalcells.In this role, you willbe responsible forconducting performance tests on electrochemical cells, analyzing data, and analytical chemistry efforts.TheTechnicianwill be fully responsible for testing, analysing data andprovidingupdates to theteam.This role is critical to the success of our research and development efforts across a range of technical projects.The position offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic, highly motivated team with significant potential for growth and career development inseveralareas. The position also offers the opportunity to address challenging and highly relevant problems within thelithium-ionbattery space.

Responsibilities

  • Conducting experiments on bench scaleelectrochemicalcells
  • Preparing test solutions, compounds, and reagents for conducting tests and advising and coordinating test procedures.
  • Support R&D projects involving process developmentandmaterial characterization
  • Determiningchemical and physical properties, compositionsofsolutions
  • Identifyingand solving process and equipment problems.
  • Assistin the development and optimization of analytical protocols for new materials and processes
  • Perform regular calibration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of laboratory equipment
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support the development and optimization of processes or products
  • Conferring with scientists and engineers to analyze, interpret, and develop tests.
  • Writingtechnical reports, and preparing standards and specifications for processes, tests, and products.
  • Maintaining laboratory instruments, troubleshooting malfunctions, andpurchasingnew laboratory supplies.
  • Evaluating and ensuring compliance with laboratory safety procedures and standards.

Salary range for this position will be $65- $90kdepending on experience and skills.

Required Education,Skillsand Experience

  • 3+years of experience in a laboratory setting
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, includingeveningshifts and weekends.
  • Associate degreein chemical technologyor related fields is preferred.
  • Hands-on experience with instrumental and wet analytical techniques
  • Experience inchemicalanalysisandelectrochemicalcells.
  • Self-motivated, proactive,flexibleand passionate about learning.Willing to be hands-on.
  • Ability to interact with a wide range of scientists and engineers.
