Job description

Title: Electrical Test Technician II
Location: Fontana, CA
Hire Type: Contract-to-Hire
Shift: 1st Shift | Monday–Friday | 6:00 AM – 2:45 PM
Overtime: Frequent OT on weekends required based on production demands.
Compensation: $25.00–$29.00/hour

Must have Skill Set:
  • 2+ years of electrical testing experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment

  • Experience performing HiPot, breaker, AC/DC, I/O, and Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT)
Overview:
We are seeking an Electrical Test Technician II to perform electrical testing on power distribution and control systems during the manufacturing process. This role is responsible for verifying the functionality and quality of electrical systems before shipment by conducting HiPot, breaker, AC/DC, I/O, and Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) while following established testing procedures. The ideal candidate has at least 2 years of electrical testing experience, a strong understanding of electrical theory, and enjoys troubleshooting complex electrical systems in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Job Duties:
  • Perform HiPot testing, breaker testing, AC/DC testing, I/O testing, and Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) on electrical equipment and systems.
  • Perform electrical testing on AC/DC power distribution systems using electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.
  • Test HVAC systems, lighting, receptacles, fans, fire alarm systems, battery systems, and perform cable megger testing.
  • Troubleshoot electrical assembly, wiring, and testing issues.
  • Work closely with engineering and production teams to complete testing accurately and on schedule.
  • Document test results and prepare technical reports with findings and recommended corrective actions.
  • Utilize electrical testing and measuring equipment to verify system performance.
  • Follow all company safety procedures and National Electrical Code (NEC) standards.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Associate degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field preferred.
  • 2+ years of electrical testing or related industrial electrical experience.
  • Strong understanding of electrical theory and electrical testing principles.
  • Experience performing HiPot, breaker, AC/DC, I/O, and Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT).
  • Experience testing three-phase AC and DC control circuits.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.
  • Proficiency using electrical testing equipment, including multimeters, megohm meters (megger), and other electrical diagnostic tools.
  • Knowledge of electrical safety procedures and NEC codes.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to lift up to 30 pounds and work throughout a manufacturing facility while wearing required PPE.
