Company Description

Bosch Automotive Service Solutions, LLC seeks Senior Mechanical Engineer (Multiple Positions) at its facility located at 15000 Haggerty Rd, Plymouth, MI 48170. Oversee the design and manufacturing of special service tools and equipment for global markets. Responsible for global compliance topics related to product certifications (CE, EAC, PASE, etc.) (25%). Responsible for the design of mechanical products, including overseeing technical projects for load-bearing equipment and lifting products that require in-depth engineering analysis and safety related assessments. The products will encompass mechanical special service tools and equipment for automotive, commercial, and agricultural/off-road vehicles. Design and develop new products, redesign existing products, as well as overseeing the prototype delivery and testing of products that meet the schedule, costs, and performance specification of internal and external customers (20%). Document designs and technical project data using accepted engineering documentation practices (drawings, BOM, test reports, design reviews, risk assessment, etc.). Responsible for all engineering documentation, specifications, engineering quality, and required data for the assigned project or customer account(s) (5%). Conduct validation and verification activities including analysis (calculations and/or FEA), physical testing, design reviews, and risk assessments on new products (25%). Develop a collaborative partnership directly with the customer(s), at all levels, to ensure that all customer needs are anticipated and met (15%). Lead product development projects, utilizing project management skills and best engineering practices to meet project objectives. Support production through continuous product engineering, problem solving, and warranty reduction (10%). REQS: This position requires a bachelor's degree, or foreign equivalent in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering or related field and 5 years of experience as an Associate Engineer or occupation involving mechanical engineering in the automotive industry. Additionally, the applicant must have professional experience with: (1) Vehicle service procedures, methods, specialty service tools and equipment; (2) 3-D CAD and 2-D Technical Drawing including Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance (GD&T); (3) Finite element analysis (FEA) methods and software; (4) Product development processes, manufacturing methods and processes; and (5) Quality management methods and risk analysis techniques.
