Job overview:

Schneider is seeking a Repair Technician in Green Bay to rebuild mechanical and electrical tractor and trailer components. The Repair Technician will work with Schneider maintenance associates and outside vendor representatives to determine why components failed and how repairs should be approached.

Responsibilities:

  • Inspect, clean, evaluate, test and rebuild semi-truck components, such as cab heaters, pumps, alternators, radiators, transmissions and compressors.
  • Receive inventory, stock shelves, pull orders and unload trailers.
  • Utilize a forklift to unload and stock parts.
  • Communicate with maintenance associates, drivers and operations teams on the status of repairs.
  • Follow repair guidelines and standard operating procedures.

Skills and qualifications:

  • Strong mechanical aptitude.
  • Able to read and understand technical reference materials.
  • Able to provide own tools within 30 days of hire.
  • Previous welding and electrical experience preferred.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
