Technical Writer

Washington DC 20240

This role involves developing, documenting, and maintaining robust system and business workflows to support HRMSD’s operational requirements. These crucial workflows serve as both internal references and external customer documentation. Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Develop and maintain comprehensive system and business process workflows.
  • Manage and organize documentation within digital repositories.
  • Create comprehensive, user-friendly manuals with clear, actionable instructions.
  • Author in-depth technical documentation for developers, IT teams, and advanced users (e.g., API guides, data models).
  • Prepare clear and concise release notes detailing application updates, bug fixes, and new features.
  • Develop engaging onboarding and training materials, including tutorials, quick-start guides, and e-learning content.
  • Collaborate closely with developers, product managers, and QA teams to gather accurate information.
  • Communicate documentation requirements, timelines, and updates effectively to stakeholders.
  • Proactively solicit and incorporate feedback from end-users and team members.
  • Ensure documentation remains current with application changes and user feedback.
