Summary: 

  • Evaluates parts, materials, processes, technology, and equipment through research and testing to ensure safety, reliability, and adherence to requirements and specifications.

  • Analyzes failed parts and processes to reduce or eliminate future failures.

  • Generates test plans, identifies and categorizes failures, determines root cause, and documents results and recommendations.

  • Proposes, develops, and validates revisions to procedures and specifications.

  • Determines suitability of parts, materials, and processes for engineering applications.

  • Coordinates resolution of issues with suppliers and customers for parts and materials.

  • Supports continuous improvement of products and processes by designing, developing, fabricating, testing, evaluating, and implementing new concepts and technology.

  • Provides technical consultation to internal and external customers on materials and processes.

  • Applies knowledge of materials and processes to support engineering and manufacturing.

  • Uses computer systems for documentation, data analysis, and reporting.

Requirements:

  • Must be a U.S. Person (as defined by ITAR).

  • Education/experience typically acquired through advanced education (e.g. Associate) and typically 3 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. Bachelor 1 years' related work experience, 5 years' related work experience, etc.).

  • Technical Associate degree or equivalent.

  • Comfortable using a computer for documentation, data analysis, and reporting.

  • Experience evaluating parts, materials, and processes through research and testing.

  • Experience analyzing failures to determine root cause and recommend corrective actions.

  • Experience generating test plans and documenting results and recommendations.

  • Experience proposing and validating revisions to procedures and specifications.

  • Experience coordinating with suppliers and customers on materials and process issues.

  • Experience supporting continuous improvement through testing and evaluation of new concepts and technology.

  • Experience providing technical consultation on materials and processes to internal and external customers.
