Job description

The Cell and Gene Therapy Process Development team at Vertex Pharmaceuticals is seeking candidates to help evaluate, design, and implement robust enterprise-level data pipeline solutions that streamline data flow from generation to analysis, which will accelerate process understanding and innovation. This role requires collaboration with multiple teams to contribute to the development and maintenance of data analysis tools and processes. 

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain robust workflows for automated data retrieval, parsing, and uploading into ELNs from equipment and other sources. 
  • Work with scientists to build out data pipelines from ELN to data analysis tools such as JMP and Spotfire.
  • Build data visualization dashboards for real-time analysis in Power BI.
  • Document and help to train team members on data workflows, including scripts, queries, and processes for future use. 
  • Support development, alignment, and training of ELN framework across teams.
  • Help establish inventory system for tracking test samples, media preparations, and product.
  • Work with team members to troubleshoot issues related to data management.
  • Work with scientists to leverage AI/ML models to detect trends or patterns in the data.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Strong proficiency in enterprise-level network mapping, data pipeline development and management
  • Strong proficiency in SQL/Python, and/or JSON/JavaScript languages
  • Proficiency in Microsoft VBA, Power Queries, and Power BI
  • Experience with data security
  • Understanding of data visualization techniques
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Good communication skills and ability to work in a team environment
  • Eagerness to learn new technologies and skills
  • 2-4 years of relevant experience and a bachelor’s or master’s degree with a focus in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field

Contract Length: 6 months with the chance to extend.


$36/hr. - $40/hr.


Monday–Friday, onsite.
