Job description

Vantor is forging the new frontier of spatial intelligence, helping decision makers and operators navigate what’s happening now and shape what’s coming next.  Vantor is a place for problem solvers, changemakers, and go-getters—where people are working together to help our customers see the world differently, and in doing so, be seen differently. Come be part of a mission, not just a job, where you can: Shape your own future, build the next big thing, and change the world.

To be eligible for this position, you must be a U.S. Person, defined as a U.S. citizen, permanent resident, Asylee, or Refugee.

Export Control/ITAR: Certain roles may be subject to U.S. export control laws, requiring U.S. person status as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3).

Please review the job details below.

The SpaceWrx division of Vantor is building the next generation of satellite systems, ground infrastructure, and mission operations capabilities that enable high-performance commercial and national security space missions. Our Mission Architecture & Systems Engineering (MASE) team provides the technical framework that enables disciplined system development across the entire program lifecycle—from concept through design, integration, verification, and operations.

We are seeking an Associate Systems Engineer to help establish and maintain the systems engineering foundation that supports multiple complex development programs. This role is ideal for an early-career engineer who is highly organized, technically curious, and motivated to learn systems engineering while contributing to mission-critical programs.

You will be responsible for administering and maintaining systems engineering artifacts, ensuring technical consistency across engineering teams, and helping enforce design processes, standards, and best practices. Working closely with systems engineers and technical leads across multiple disciplines, you will help ensure that requirements, models, design artifacts, verification evidence, and technical decisions remain organized, traceable, and aligned throughout the system lifecycle.

This is an excellent opportunity to develop broad exposure to spacecraft, ground systems, and mission operations while building a strong foundation in modern systems engineering practices.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen

  • Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics, or related technical discipline.

  • 1–3 years of professional engineering experience or relevant internship/co-op experience.

  • Fundamental understanding of systems engineering principles and the system development lifecycle.

  • Familiarity with requirements management concepts, including decomposition, allocation, verification, and traceability.

  • Exposure to Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) concepts and SysML.

  • Experience using engineering documentation, configuration-controlled repositories, or technical data management tools through academic or professional projects.

  • Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.

  • Ability to coordinate across multiple engineering disciplines while maintaining technical accuracy and data consistency.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative engineering environment with multiple concurrent development efforts.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with requirements management tools such as IBM DOORS Next, Jama Connect, Polarion, or similar platforms.

  • Experience with MBSE tools such as Cameo Systems Modeler, Enterprise Architect, MagicDraw, or equivalent SysML modeling environments.

  • Familiarity and exposure to the Ansys engineering tool suite, including STK.

  • Familiarity with configuration management and engineering change processes.

  • Understanding of requirements verification and validation planning.

  • Experience organizing technical documentation and maintaining engineering baselines.

  • Familiarity with digital engineering methodologies and lifecycle traceability from initial concept design to verification and validation.

  • Exposure to spacecraft, satellite payloads, ground systems, mission operations, or other complex hardware/software systems.

  • Experience using Git, Jira, Confluence, or similar engineering collaboration tools.

  • Working knowledge of systems engineering standards such as ISO/IEC/IEEE 15288, INCOSE systems engineering practices, or the NASA Systems Engineering Handbook.

  • Demonstrated ability to learn new engineering tools and processes quickly while supporting multiple technical teams.

Successful candidates are highly organized, take ownership of their work, communicate clearly, and enjoy enabling engineering teams to execute efficiently. They are motivated by building structure around complex technical programs, maintaining high-quality engineering data, and continuously improving engineering processes that support rapid, disciplined system development. While this role focuses on systems engineering administration and lifecycle management, it provides significant opportunities to grow into broader technical systems engineering, architecture, integration, and mission engineering responsibilities over time.
