Job description

Together, We Enhance Innovation and Growth

i2G specializes in advanced physical electronic security and life safety solutions. I2G has proven experience in surveillance, access control, and intrusion detection systems, biometrics, fence sensors, radars, ground sensors, anti-drone technologies, and more. We excel in design, project management, commissioning, and enterprise technology integrations.

i2G’s mission is to provide the products and services that meet our customers’ needs to give them a vital advantage in today’s market, helping to protect what matters most.

This position will provide engineering design and support for security solutions for new and existing clients while working alongside internal teams, external teams, clients, and subcontractors to ensure project success.

The Post-Sales Security Systems Engineer is the technical architect of project execution. Following the sales phase, you will own the "Technical Truth" of a project—transforming preliminary designs into precise, executable installation packages. You will serve as the bridge between sales, the CAD department, and field technicians, ensuring that every integration is seamless and every "As-Built" is accurate.

Core ResponsibilitiesTechnical Execution & Design
  • System Implementation: Design and develop engineering solutions for complex system installations, upgrades, and enterprise-level conversions.

  • Mastery of Infrastructure: Maintain a deep understanding of standard Electronic Security technology (ACS, IDS, FDS, CCTV) and the underlying IT architecture (databases, server hardware, and networking).

  • BOM Scrubs: Perform rigorous "scrubs" of Bills of Materials to ensure all equipment is technically compatible and accurate prior to procurement.

Documentation & Drafting
  • Installation Packages: Create and manage critical installation documentation, including Wiring Diagrams, Programming Sheets, and Device Schedules.

  • CAD Collaboration: Self-create or collaborate with the CAD Department to produce high-fidelity floor plans, riser drawings, and detail drawings.

  • Project Close-out: Ensure project integrity by creating comprehensive As-Built documentation and O&M (Operations & Maintenance) manuals for client hand-off.

Project Support & Compliance
  • RFI Management: Lead the issuance and tracking of Requests for Information (RFI) to resolve technical discrepancies during the build phase.

  • Permitting: Facilitate the technical documentation required for local permitting and compliance with industry standards.

  • Field Support: Provide high-level technical support for on-site team members to troubleshoot real-time installation challenges.

Innovation & Strategy
  • Technology Adoption: Support management in documenting and implementing "Next-Gen" tech (Biometrics, Radar, Anti-Drone) for existing and new clients.

  • Vendor Expertise: Maintain active familiarity with industry leaders (Genetec, Lenel, Milestone, etc.) and emerging security trends.

  • A minimum of 3-7 years previous experience in the industry.
  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in relevant field preferred or applicable amount of experience in the appropriate field may be substituted for the educational background.
  • Experience in the design and planning of access control and video systems.
  • Professional Electronic Security Certifications or training (Lenel, Genetec, C-Cure. Avigilon, Axis, Bosch, Milestone, etc.) preferred.

  • Ability to manage time and multiple tasks without supervision.
  • Organizational skills & detail oriented.
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent presentation, writing skills, verbal, and written customer communication skills.
  • Experience in computer programs such as Microsoft Office, Adobe, etc. preferred. Microsoft Project, Visio, BlueBeam, AutoCAD, or Revit is a plus.
