Job Overview
We are seeking a data-driven and results-oriented Operational Excellence Engineer to optimize our operational efficiency, reduce process variation, and minimize waste. This role focuses on leading continuous improvement (CI) initiatives, implementing structured problem-solving methodologies, and embedding a culture of sustainable operational performance across cross-functional teams.
Core Responsibilities
  • Process Optimization: Design, map, and analyze workflows using Value Stream Mapping (VSM) to eliminate non-value-added activities and resolve process bottlenecks.
  • Project Leadership: Lead and execute targeted Lean Six Sigma and DMAIC projects focused on improving safety, quality, delivery, and operational costs.
  • Data & Analytics: Gather, interpret, and model operational data using statistical methods to identify performance gaps and establish root-cause corrective actions.
  • Standardization: Develop, document, and audit standard operating procedures (SOPs), 5S practices, and process control mechanisms to sustain gains.
  • Training & Coaching: Facilitate site-wide training programs for Lean tools, A3 problem solving, and mentor White, Yellow, and Green Belt practitioners.
  • Daily Management Systems: Implement and support performance control indicators (KPIs), metric tracking systems, and daily tier huddle routines.
  • Change Management: Partner with floor associates up to site leadership to champion a mindset of Zero Loss and proactive process prevention.

Required Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Industrial, Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Systems Engineering, or a closely related technical field.
  • Experience: 3+ years of direct experience in engineering, manufacturing, operations, or continuous improvement environments.
  • Certifications: Certified Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt from an accredited organization.
  • Methodologies: Practical proficiency in Lean manufacturing tools, including Kaizen events, SMED, Root Cause Analysis (5-Why, Ishikawa), and FMEA.
  • Technical Skills: Advanced skill set in data analysis tools (Minitab, Excel, Power BI, Tableau).

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience managing third-party logistics (3PL) providers or automated Warehouse Management Systems (WMS/SAP).
  • Foundational scripting skills (SQL, Python) for automated reporting and advanced business data analytics.
