Northrop Grumman is seeking an Associate Systems Administrator/ Systems Administrator to maintain and enhance Linux Systems and Infrastructure onsite for the National Space Intelligence Center (NSIC). Successful candidates will clearly demonstrate strong technical skills to achieve high availability, security, and integrity for the operating environment. They should have a track record as an effective communicator and problem solver who is able to develop and maintain good working relationships with internal and external stakeholders. This Systems Administrator will be an active part of a team to collaborate to support National Space Intelligence Center. As part of a broader team, successful candidates will have the opportunity to gain experience in Windows and Linux Administration and grow their skills in network and hardware management.

This requisition may be filled at a higher grade based on qualifications listed below.


Basic Qualifications for an Associate Systems Administrator:

  • One of the following:
    • High school diploma or GED equivalent with a minimum of 4 years relevant experience
    • A Bachelor's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Math discipline with 0 years of experience
  • Active Department of Defense Top Secret and eligible for Sensitive Compartmented Information security clearance
  • IAT Level II certification such as Security+ or SecurityX
  • Able to demonstrate strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills

Basic Qualifications for a Systems Administrator:

  • One of the following:
    • High school diploma or GED equivalent with 6 Years relevant experience may be substituted in lieu of a degree
    • Bachelor's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Math discipline with 2 Years related experience
  • Active Department of Defense Top Secret and eligible for Sensitive Compartmented Information security clearance
  • IAT Level II certification such as Security+ or SecurityX
  • Able to demonstrate strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Linux or Windows Systems Administration
  • Experience with security compliance and related security scanning products.
  • Experience in enterprise backup and restore solutions, storage area network (SAN), and network attached storage (NAS)
  • Experience with scripting using tools such as Perl, Bash, PowerShell, etc.
  • Experience with network administration and related infrastructure
  • Experience with hardware installation and maintenance to include firmware upgrades

Primary Level Salary Range: $63,000.00 - $94,600.00Secondary Level Salary Range: $75,800.00 - $113,800.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
