Job description

GVI Inc., a subsidiary of Three Saints Bay, LLC, and a Federal Government Contractor industry leader, is seeking a Systems Engineering Technician/Drafter to join our Team in White Sands, NM.
Core Responsibilities
  • Technical Drafting & Modeling: Develop and update detailed 2D and 3D engineering designs, schematics, and mechanical layouts using CAD software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks).
  • System Documentation: Prepare technical data packages, user manuals, material lists, and performance specifications for military instrumentation and defense equipment.
  • Engineering Collaboration: Translate rough sketches and conceptual requirements from lead engineers into production-ready blueprints.
  • Specification Verification: Ensure all designs comply with stringent Department of Defense (DoD) standards, range safety regulations, and quality controls.
  • Operational Troubleshooting: Review design packages with cross-functional teams and update drawings as systems are modified during testing lifecycles.

Qualifications & Requirements
  • Education & Experience: Typically requires an associate's degree in Drafting/Design or a related engineering discipline, combined with several years of CADD/drafting experience (often in a defense or aerospace environment).
  • Software Fluency: High proficiency in computer-aided design (CAD) software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Security Clearance: Most ETSS positions at WSMR require candidates to hold or be eligible for DoD Secret Clearance.
