Job description

Job Summary

We are seeking an Epic Application Analyst to join our Resolute Revenue Cycle Billing team. This role is ideal for someone passionate about improving healthcare through technology and collaboration.

Under minimal supervision, assists in responding to requests from users for new or modified systems. As a critical liaison between clinical and business operations, this role is responsible for configuring, maintaining, and optimizing Epic applications to improve patient care, streamline workflows, and ensure regulatory compliance. Consults with users to identify current operating procedures for single departmental changes, define system requirements, and determine programming and/or application functional requirements. Creates technical and procedural designs for new or revised applications, including system specifications and programming guidelines. Assists in the documentation to describe application changes for program development and corrections.

Essential Functions
  • Under minimal supervision, plans, designs, tests, implements, supports and analyzes programs and software.
  • Consults with users to identify current operating procedures for departmental changes, defines system requirements, and identifies programming and/or application functional requirements.
  • Based upon technical and procedural information, recommends designs for new or updated systems, and develops system specifications and programming guidelines.
  • May also document application changes for program development and corrections, and help ensure that all change management policies and procedures are being applied.
  • For technology projects, may be responsible for creating and maintaining relevant project management documents, including work plans, status reports and risk assessments, and may help guide project tasks among the Application Systems Analysts team.
  • Performs system testing, validation, and troubleshooting for Epic applications.
  • Participates in Epic upgrades, build activities, and change control processes.
  • Ensures system integrity, data accuracy, and compliance with HIPAA and other standards.
  • Actively drives growth and development in area of specialty by attaining and maintaining Epic certifications and/or accreditations. Ensures strict compliance with the systemwide Competency & Qualification Requirements Policy.
Qualifications

Required

  • Associate's Degree or equivalent
  • At least 2 years of relevant experience planning, design, testing, implementation, support, analysis of programs and software, and/or a participant in multiple phases of an integrated system implementation
  • Experience working with Epic systems
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
  • Able to work in an on-call rotation outside of regular business hours once every few months

Preferred

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent
  • Epic Hospital Billing and Claims Certification
  • Familiarity with SQL, reporting tools, or analytics platforms
  • Understanding of HL7, HIPAA, and data governance
