Job Summary
An Analyst position functioning as a team member supporting gas asset management strategies in various areas such as station operations, leak and survey activities, corrosion prevention, mapping and facility documentation, gas system control functions and code compliance activities. The Analyst conducts installation, operation, maintenance, troubleshooting and project activities with general instructions and often independent of direct oversight. Creative and cost effective solutions are developed for a wide range of medium to moderately complex projects. The Analyst supports operational, code compliance and emergency response activities of the assigned team while maintaining a focus on safety, customer satisfaction, code compliance and financial responsibility.
Job Responsibilities
  • Provides technical support to internal clients and external stakeholders on a variety of tasks in areas as gas measurement/instrumentation/pressure regulation, leak detection/surveys, corrosion prevention, mapping and facility documentation, gas system monitoring/control and code compliance, and scada communications systems.
  • Installs, maintains, troubleshoots and repairs a variety of gas distribution equipment, instruments and systems. Recommends and purchases equipment, supplies and services. Ensures appropriate documentation and facility records requirements are maintained. Ensures that actions follow Company standards and procedures, comply with appropriate regulations and support the Company's operational and financial objectives.
  • Receives general instructions on routine work and detailed instructions on complex or unusual work. Exhibits considerable technical knowledge and skills.
  • Identifies problems and relevant issues in straight forward situations, assessing using standard procedures and sound judgment.
  • Develops and recommends procedures, methods and standards. Conducts audit and field observation functions on standards and procedures.
  • Manages small to moderately complex projects. Functions as lead for individual or small group tasks.
  • Supports emergency response activities.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Minimum of 2-4 years as Gas System Associate Analyst or experience in a directly related technical field such as gas distribution operations, mapping/GPS applications, corrosion prevention operations, gas system control operations and/or gas distribution code compliance.
  • Relevant experience is based on the specific role of the position, e.g. Instrumentation and Control, Maps and Records, corrosion and Standards.
  • High school diploma, HSED, or GED.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Demonstrates analytical problem solving skills and effective oral/written communication skills.
  • Specific responsibilities may require particular industry certification such as National Association of Corrosion Engineers - NACE Level 1 certification and Operator Qualification for Gas Control Operations.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Associate degree preferred.
  • Safety conscious with a sound understanding of gas distribution codes and electrical experience (rectifiers).
