PRIMARILY ONSITE WITH LIMITED TELEWORK

DESCRIPTION OF POSITION / DUTIES

All Points is seeking a Systems Administrator III to support the Engineering Directorate at NASA Langley Research Center in Hampton, Virginia. This position provides IT systems support across engineering, laboratory, and research-computing environments supporting Linux, macOS, and Windows platforms.

The selected candidate will support end users, enterprise systems, research computing resources, storage infrastructure, security compliance activities, and platform administration efforts in a mission-focused NASA environment.

DUTIES MAY INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
  • Provide end-user support for Linux, macOS, and Windows workstations
  • Install, configure, maintain, and upgrade operating systems, servers, software, and scientific software packages
  • Administer Linux and Windows servers, including virtual, cloud, and web-server environments
  • Monitor, analyze, troubleshoot, tune, and correct system performance and availability issues
  • Maintain system backups, database archives, media recoverability, and recovery procedures
  • Resolve security issues through patching, risk analysis, security planning, and compliance activities
  • Assist with administration and monitoring of storage systems including SAN, NAS, RAID, NFS, and LUN technologies
  • Track and resolve incidents and service requests through established ticketing systems
  • Conduct hardware and software audits and maintain supporting configuration and asset documentation
  • Develop, maintain, and communicate standard operating procedures and technical documentation
EDUCATION

Bachelor's degree required.

YEARS OF EXPERIENCE
  • 4+ years of relevant systems administration experience required
SKILLS / CERTIFICATIONS Required Experience & Skills:
  • Advanced systems administration experience supporting Linux, macOS, and Windows environments
  • Linux administration experience
  • Windows administration experienceServer administration experience supporting virtual, cloud, and web-server environments
  • Experience with scripting and command-line tools
  • System backup and recovery experience
  • Basic networking experience
  • Storage administration experience supporting SAN, NAS, RAID, NFS, or LUN technologies
  • Security patching, risk analysis, security planning, and compliance support experience
  • Ability to work independently and within a collaborative team environment
  • Strong communication, documentation, and problem-solving skills

COMPENSATION

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

This position supports engineering, laboratory, and research-computing environments at NASA Langley Research Center and requires substantial onsite presence. Limited telework may be available based on program requirements.
