Corporate and Tax Associate: Strategic Transactional Counsel

Location: Cinncinati, Columbus, Akron, OH or Washington, DC (Hybrid options available)

Salary Range: $175,000 - $235,000+ (Commensurate with experience and LLM status)

About the Role:
Join a premier Corporate team in a role that merges high-level tax strategy with complex business transactions. We are seeking a Corporate and Tax Associate to manage federal and state tax matters while supporting major corporate initiatives, including Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A). This position offers a unique platform for a professional who enjoys the intersection of technical tax analysis and collaborative deal-making.

Key Responsibilities:

Tax Advisory: Handle sophisticated federal and state tax matters, providing clear guidance on complex regulatory issues.

Transactional Support: Assist in key corporate transactions, specifically focusing on the tax implications of mergers, acquisitions, and restructuring.

Financial Analysis: Review and analyze tax returns and financial statements to identify risks and strategic opportunities.

Partnership and Corporate Strategy: Apply deep knowledge of partnership and corporate tax principles to solve client problems.

Collaboration: Work alongside senior partners and cross-functional teams to ensure effective case management and relationship building.

Qualifications:

Experience: 2++ years of relevant tax experience in a law firm or CPA firm.

Education: JD from an accredited law school; an LLM in Taxation is preferred but not required.

Licensure: Must be admitted to the practice of law (Ohio or Washington, DC Bar or eligible for reciprocity).

Technical Skills: Strong understanding of federal income tax, state and local tax (SALT), and partnership taxation.
