Position Summary:

Turn product data into clear decisions that improve outcomes for customers and internal teams. The Product Analytics Senior Associate partners with Product Management, UX, and Engineering to evaluate feature performance, measure the impact of product strategies, and support prioritization decisions. This role develops KPI frameworks, leads in-depth analyses, and translates complex healthcare data into clear recommendations for product leadership. This role is based in Austin, TX and follows a hybrid work model. This role reports to the Product Analytics Director.

About the Team:

The Product Analytics team helps product leaders understand what is working, what is not, and where to focus next. The team supports Product, UX, Engineering, and other cross-functional partners by delivering analysis, reporting, and measurement frameworks that guide product decisions. Team members work with data from user, transaction, and behavioral systems, along with dashboards and reporting tools, to create clear and reliable insights. The team values collaboration, shared problem-solving, and continuous learning.

Essential Job Responsibilities:

  • Partner with Product Managers to define success metrics and measurement frameworks for product initiatives.

  • Query user, transaction, and behavioral data to support product analysis and decision-making.

  • Design and maintain dashboards and report cards that track feature and product performance.

  • Analyze experiment results and provide clear recommendations for next steps.

  • Standardize metrics and data assets, and identify gaps in coverage or consistency.

  • Build trusted working relationships with cross-functional product teams and stakeholders.

  • Use AI tools to speed up analysis, drafting, and quality checks while validating outputs against source data and applying sound judgment before sharing results.

  • Support ad hoc analysis requests related to product performance and market trends.

Additional Job Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to data pipeline improvements, documentation, and analytics governance.

  • Participate in stakeholder meetings to clarify requirements and align on analytic approach.

  • Help maintain data quality checks and monitoring across analytic systems.

  • Support reproducible analysis practices by documenting methods, assumptions, and data lineage.

  • Assist with interpretation of trends, benchmarks, and performance patterns as needed.

Expected Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree required; degree in a quantitative field such as Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, or Information Systems preferred.

  • 3+ years of professional experience, including 2-3 years in data analytics or data science.

  • Strong SQL skills with experience writing production-level queries.

  • Python proficiency required.

  • Experience using AI-assisted development tools to accelerate analysis, automate workflows, and improve code quality.

  • Experience building dashboards and self-service analytics in tools such as Tableau, Power BI, Looker, or Sigma.

  • Experience with time-series analysis, cohort analysis, benchmark development, and applied statistical methods.

  • Experience presenting analytical findings to stakeholders at multiple levels of the organization.

  • Ability to document methods, assumptions, and data lineage to support reproducible analyses.

  • Healthcare data experience and familiarity with value-based care concepts preferred.

Expected Compensation

$81,000 - $139,000

The base salary range shown reflects the full range for this role from minimum to maximum. At athenahealth, base pay depends on multiple factors, including job-related experience, relevantknowledge and skills, how your qualifications compare to others in similar roles,and geographical market rates. Base pay is only one part of our competitive Total Rewards package - depending on role eligibility, we offer both short and long-term incentives by way of an annual discretionary bonus plan, variable compensation plan, and equity plans.
