Job description

The Staffing Coordinator-FMOL assigns a variety of staffing resources to departments throughout our various campuses. Requires and utilizes an in-depth knowledge of unit, departmental, and organizational policies to guide appropriate placement of resources. Collaborates with clinical and nonclinical leadership as resources are moved fluidly throughout the organization.

Experience - 3 years of experience in a similar role such as staffing, recruiting
Education - High school diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience 
Special Skills - Additional formal clerical and computer training desirable; Exceptional organizational and interpersonal skills, great critical thinking and decision making skills; familiarity with staffing procedures; strong attention to detail; proficieny in MS Office.; highly organized; able to exercise independent judgment to set work priorities; organizational skills to prioritize multiple tasks and adapt quickly to changes and interruptions; interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with a wide range of staff in order to relay and obtain information.

  1. Staffing & Orientation
    1. Proactively schedules and reassigns staff to ensure the most qualified, cost-efficient staff are matched to the current needs, using the knowledge of hospital, nursing, and FlexChoice Staffing policies and procedures.
    2. Communicates regularly with unit-based leadership and staffing colleagues in all facilities to discuss resources needed, opportunities for colleague reassignment, and admission capacity.
    3. Communicates directly with colleagues through a variety of methods for the purpose of increasing the colleagues' availability and flexibility to meet the needs of the request. Books available colleagues to open shifts.
    4. Assists in orientation and training of new team members: ensuring onboarding is established with HR; handling all communication for orientation between the hiring manager, HR, and the Nursing PD Generalist; ensuring the completion of the orientation checklist.
    5. Assists HRIS with the build of new employee profiles in Oracle.
    6. Assists the Nursing Professional Development Generalist in the screening of applicants and interview scheduling.
    7. Works with the Staffing Director and FlexChohice team to develop appropriate changes in staffing policies as needed to promote efficient and effective assignment of resources.
    8. Obtains and enters orders in staffing technology to source candidates when needed.
  2. Collabration
    1. Maintains good rapport and cooperative relationships. Approaches conflict in a constructive manner. Helps identify problems, offer solutions, and participate in their resolution.
    2. Establishes relationships with all colleagues, builds a strong understanding of each market in the organization, creates reports with candidates and employees of staffing department.
  3. Administrative Duties
    1. Enters accurate scheduling, attendance, and timekeeping information into appropriate scheduling software packages. Runs a variety of reports from different programs to provide an accurate picture of where current resources are assigned.
    2. Reports any identified or unresolved problems to appropriate leadership for additional follow up.
    3. Behaves in accordance with the Mission, Vision and Values of Health System.
    4. Assumes responsibility for performance of job duties in the safest possible manner, to assure personal safety and that of coworkers, and to report all preventable hazards and unsafe practices immediately to management.
    5. Maintains the confidentiality of information acquired pertaining to patient, physicians, associates, and visitors to Health System. Discusses patient and hospital information only among appropriate personnel in appropriately private places.
  4. Other Duties As Assigned
    1. Participates in meetings and/or committees.
    2. Serves as backup for other team members as needed.
