Sourcing & Category Manager - Indirect Spend (Contract)
Compensation: $55 - $65 / hour

About the Role
We're looking for a strategic Sourcing & Category Manager - Indirect Spend (Contract) to provide coverage for a 6-month contract, with the possibility of extending. This role sits inside a global manufacturing leader with over 1 million tons of production capacity, giving you the chance to shape sourcing strategy at real scale.
The Manager will take ownership of vendor performance, contract negotiations, and indirect spend category strategy across a portfolio of spend areas. This person will be the primary link between procurement, business stakeholders, and suppliers, driving savings, reducing risk, and building supplier relationships that hold up under pressure.
What Youโll Do
- Manage multiple indirect spend categories, including:
- IT (software, hardware, engineering/professional services)
- Travel (TMCs, airlines, hotels, car rental programs)
- Property leases/purchase/sell (commercial negotiations and agreements)
- All Corporate department services (professional services, consulting, general indirect spend)
- RFP Leadership: Run sourcing events and supplier selection from RFP to award, keeping stakeholders looped in throughout
- Contract Management: Draft, negotiate, and execute contracts in SAP (Outline Agreements)
- Track emerging trends and procurement best practices, feeding relevant ones back into internal processes
- Build and maintain strategic relationships with internal stakeholders (procurement, legal, finance, business teams) and suppliers
- Own vendor relationships and safety/performance tracking for assigned categories
- Create, refine, and roll out sourcing strategies at both a regional and global level, adapting them as supplier markets shift
- Maintain internal controls and governance practices that keep the business compliant and operationally resilient
What You Bring
- 5+ years in strategic sourcing, supplier/contract management, or procurement-focused project management inside a large, matrixed organization
- Hands-on SAP experience, including outline agreements creation & maintenance
- CapEx project-based sourcing experience
- A bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or related field (Graduate degree preferred)
- A track record of building and executing category strategies from the ground up
- Comfort leading capital-project sourcing and negotiating large, complex deals
- Experience managing cross-border or multi-site teams
- Working knowledge of contract law sufficient to flag compliance issues early
- Strong supplier relationship management and performance improvement mindset
- Solid grasp of the supply markets relevant to your categories
- Familiarity with international logistics, air/ocean freight and Incoterms
- A collaborative, upbeat approach to working with others
