Job description

The Solutions Engineer is responsible for providing quality services and solutions to our clients while maintaining a high level of client satisfaction. The Solutions Engineer will accurately build and scope solutions that align with client business needs and Marco service delivery standards. This role supports and optimizes sales opportunities through technical discovery, solution design, and pre-sales support across Microsoft-based technologies and managed services offerings. The Solutions Engineer will guide and assist Sales Representatives by providing technical expertise, solution positioning, and industry knowledge. The Solutions Engineer is responsible for designing and scoping solutions across Microsoft platforms, including Azure, Entra ID, Intune, SharePoint, and Microsoft 365. This includes development of statements of work, labor estimates, and solution documentation for initiatives such as cloud migrations, tenant-to-tenant transitions, identity modernization, and endpoint transformation.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Work with a focused set of Microsoft technologies and managed services solutions to achieve the following:
    • Maintain technical expertise, including relevant certifications.
    • Demonstrate solution capabilities through client presentations and discussions.
    • Build and design solution architectures aligned to client and business requirements.
    • Review and assess solution designs for feasibility, scalability, and supportability.
  • Provide sales consultation, design, and support of opportunities involving Microsoft solutions, including Azure, identity, endpoint management, and collaboration platforms.
  • Offer technical guidance, roadmap input, and strategic recommendations to new and existing clients that result in defined next steps, solutions, and services.
  • Design solutions aligned to a managed services delivery model, ensuring long-term supportability and operational consistency.
  • Lead or assist with presales activities including customer discovery sessions, solution presentations, demonstrations, proof-of-concept engagements, and technical discussions.
  • Develop and document statements of work, labor estimates, and initial project scope for professional services engagements, including:
    • Azure migrations and cloud modernization initiatives
    • Microsoft 365 tenant-to-tenant migrations
    • Active Directory to Entra ID transformations
    • Endpoint management implementations leveraging Intune and Autopilot
  • Translate solution designs into clear scope, deliverables, assumptions, and dependencies to support client understanding and internal execution.
  • Ensure strong and effective knowledge of Microsoft platforms, licensing, and services in collaboration with internal teams.
  • Serve as a technical resource for Microsoft-based solutions and managed services within assigned opportunities.
  • Demonstrate knowledge and key benefits of Marco solutions, including managed services capabilities, relative to competitive offerings.
  • Stay knowledgeable on current and future Microsoft technologies and industry trends in preparation for Marco sales efforts.
  • Keep informed on industry changes and continually work to improve technical knowledge, solution design capabilities, and sales support effectiveness.
  • Promptly assist with and maintain documentation of client-facing materials in a timely manner, including RFP responses, statements of work, service requests, and purchase agreements.
  • Assist Sales staff with RFP responses and proposal development.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • An associate degree and three years of relevant experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Proven experience working in a solutions engineering, presales, or technical consulting role supporting client-facing engagements.
  • Experience designing, supporting, or implementing Microsoft-based solutions, including Azure, Microsoft 365, Entra ID, and Intune.
  • Familiarity with scoping or supporting professional services engagements, including defining scope, deliverables, and estimates.
  • Foundational understanding of managed services concepts, including ongoing support, monitoring, and lifecycle management.
  • Solid understanding of industry technologies as they pertain to presale responsibilities.
  • Ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions and well-defined project scopes.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills with both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Valid Driver's License, proof of personal insurance, and a clean driving record.

Pay Range:$74,466 - $115,422 annually
