Solutions Architect

Location: Alpharetta, GA (Hybrid)
Description:
The Solutions Architect is a mid level, hands-on individual contributor responsible for designing and implementing solutions across a hybrid IT environment including Microsoft Azure, on-prem infrastructure, identity platforms, and ERP systems. This
This role focuses on execution and delivery-translating architecture into working solutions. The ideal candidate is a strong technical engineer with architectural capability who can deploy, automate, and integrate systems across infrastructure, identity (AD/Entra), and enterprise applications.
This role is based in Alpharetta, Georgia and operates in a hybrid work environment. This role will be 70% hands- on implementation and 30% design. The position reports to the leader of infrastructure.
Responsibilities:
  • Design & Implementation
    • Design and build hybrid solutions across Azure and on-prem environments
    • Deploy and configure Azure services (compute, networking, storage, identity)
    • Implement secure hybrid connectivity (VPN, ExpressRoute, integrations)
  • Hybrid Infrastructure
    • Support Azure and on-prem environments (VMware / Hyper-V)
    • Execute cloud migrations and infrastructure modernization efforts
    • Optimize systems for performance, reliability, and cos
  • Identity & Access Management
    • Implement and support Active Directory and Microsoft Entra ID
    • Configure hybrid identity (AAD Connect), RBAC, MFA, and conditional access
    • Integrate identity services with enterprise and ERP applications
  • ERP & Application Integration
    • Support infrastructure and integrations for ERP platforms (Oracle, SAP, or similar)
    • Implement data flows and connectivity between applications and Azure servicesAutomation & DevOps
      • Develop infrastructure automation using Terraform, ARM, or Bicep
      • Use scripting (PowerShell preferred) to standardize deployments
      • Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and reusable deployment patterns
  • Operations & Optimization
    • Troubleshoot complex infrastructure issues
    • Support monitoring, alerting, and system tuning
    • Contribute to Azure cost optimization and operational efficienc
  • Security & Compliance
      • Apply security best practices across cloud and on-prem environments
      • Support implementation of Zero Trust principles and secure configurations

Qualifications:
Required
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 5-8 years of experience in infrastructure engineering, cloud engineering, or similar roles
  • Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure and hybrid environments
  • Strong knowledge of:
    • Active Directory and Microsoft Entra ID
    • Virtualization (VMware or Hyper-V)
    • Networking fundamentals (DNS, routing, firewalls)
  • Experience with scripting (PowerShell preferred)
  • Exposure to Infrastructure as Code tools (Terraform, ARM, or Bicep)
  • Experience supporting or integrating with enterprise applications or ERP systems
  • Ability to travel up to 10% as business needs require

Preferred
  • Microsoft Azure certifications (Administrator or Solutions Architect Associate)
  • Experience with:
    • Data platforms (Azure Data Lake, integrations)
    • Monitoring/observability tools
