Job Description

The Solutions Architect will develop technical requirements, identify technical specifications, and design technology solutions that may include systems integration, custom development, procuring applications, and other technologies. This position requires a strong ability to lead as this position will also lead the development team to develop and deploy technology solutions.

Develop and own all architectures for the solution using agency approved architectural methodologies and best practices.

Work within established enterprise architecture practices, policies and guidelines to develop technical requirements, identify technical specifications, and design technology solutions that may include systems integration, custom development, procuring applications, and other technologies.

Provide leadership to the development team in the development and deployment of technology solutions.

Collaborate with the extended architectural team to ensure that solutions are not built in a silo'ed environment.

Work with project stakeholders to understand the technical goals and communicate impacts of proposed solutions.

Liaise with LOB and technical teams to drive into those organizations Enterprise data management policies and standards specifically focusing on strategic projects, ensuring both functional and non-functional requirements are part of initiative design and build.

Provide overall technical architecture / design leadership for implementation of the solution

Assist with Detail system design to a point where implementation can proceed

Identify and document architecturally significant aspects/views of the systems Contribute to the documentation and rationalization of existing data and information architectures.

Participate in cost estimation.

Contribute to Enterprise initiatives addressing data integrity and information alignment, consolidation and integration opportunities.

Maintain architecture traceability throughout the process lifecycle.

Contribute to architecture process improvement and make recommendations for improvement to the standards.

Qualifications

-BS Degree CS or MIS or equivalent experience in related roles

-8+ years designing for large scale internal associate or external facing applications

-5+ years of experience in performance and scalability of highly distributed applications

-2+ in a lead information architect role

-Experience in Microsoft technology stack, SOA, REST, XML, Cloud and API standards

-Ability to document and effectively communicate a data or information architecture across multiple audiences, including senior management.

-Formulate/design data and information requirements and objectives for a major project or multiple lesser projects. -Demonstrate an understanding of the data/information lifecycle and the appropriate management of these assets at each stage of the lifecycle

-Must be deadline oriented, able to identify risks and resolve issues

-Working knowledge of Team Foundation Services 2012

-Working knowledge of Share Point 2010 and Performance Point

-Demonstrated ability to use discretion and make sound decisions

-Ability to excel in a collaborative and distributed team environment

-Ability to work with a minimal amount of direction while being pro-active in keeping their management informed of project related issues

-Ability to work under pressure

-Ability to respectfully question ideas and share a point of view with others in support of the business requirements and needs

-Ability to effectively communicate with various levels of employees ranging from entry level to senior leadership

-Ability to manage multiple projects at the same time and shift priorities quickly

-Experience working on an Agile/Scrum team preferred

-Proven strong problem-solving skills, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis

-Excellent written and verbal communication skills

-Strong aspiration to learn new technologies

-Proven strong relationship-building and communication skills with team members and business users

-Ability to maintain confidentiality

-Experience in the education industry
