Job description


The Cardiovascular Systems Unit is seeking an Application Analyst to join an existing team providing analysis and support for information systems vital to the Cardiovascular practice. Primary responsibilities include coordination, configuration, documentation, testing, implementation, and maintenance of vended systems. This position will fill an important role as subject matter expert of several of the departmental systems used in Cardiovascular division. We will look to this individual to be able to coordinate system upgrades, meet with clinical practice areas to garner requirements, and partner with IT colleagues and others to implement solutions to enable a growing practice area. There will be opportunities to work closely with the clinical areas to improve the systems they use to enable better patient care, workflow, and business processes.
Supports software programs or modules across multiple clinical and/or business functions. Understands the business environment and the impact IT can have on the business environment. Provides analysis and support for installed systems as well as system implementation and integration projects that require systems analysis, design, testing and implementation for specific modules or applications.
Maintains knowledge of existing systems and is certified in the vended application, as required. Configures, designs, develops, or modifies applications via vendor tools or augmented tools developed within Mayo Clinic and is able to validate data integrity of changes introduced. Resolves customer problems with software and responds to requested improvements and enhancements.
Research requests to determine scope, size and impact. Works with customers to elicit requirements through a variety of techniques. Validates requirement information with customers to ensure completeness, correctness, and clarity. Validates the developed solution to ensure it satisfies the stated requirements.
Functions as a liaison between clinical, business, and technical areas during the planning process. Builds credibility and rapport with customers to understand their needs.
Manages small- to mid-sized projects. Contributes to software testing activities. May be required to provide 24/7 on-call support.
This position is Limited Tenure. Limited Tenure (LT) means that if you are offered the position and accept it:
  • You will be categorized as a regular employee during this tenure, but employment will be terminated at the established end date.
  • You committed to stay in this position until the end of the tenure (approximately 24 months from date of hire) before you become eligible to transfer to a new position.
  • After the completion of the limited tenure assignment, it is your responsibility to secure another role within Mayo through the job vacancy process or employment will be ended upon the completion of the limited tenure assignment.

Qualifications
Bachelor's degree OR Associate's degree with 2 years' experience in business analysis. Vendor application certification may be required.
Preferred Qualifications:
Relational database skills and experience with HL7 and other interfacing methods is highly desired. A motivation to troubleshoot challenging technical situations will also be key to this role.
