Position           : SDET Engineer

Location          : Charlotte, NC Hybrid (3 days required onsite)

Duration         : 9 months potential to extend.

About the Role

We are seeking 5 x highly skilled Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) to join our clients technology team, a leading Tier 1 U.S. bank.

This role is ideal for a seasoned professional who can blend strong automation expertise with DevOps infrastructure experience, while also leveraging the latest advancements in AI-driven test automation.

You will play a key role in ensuring high-quality software delivery, driving testing strategies, and collaborating across engineering, product, and operations teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain robust automation frameworks using Playwright, Selenium, BDD/Cucumber, and Java.
  • Implement API test automation with Karate and ensure seamless test coverage across services.
  • Explore and apply LLM models, Prompt Engineering, and AI-assisted tools (e.g., Copilot) to accelerate test automation.
  • Collaborate closely with DevOps and infrastructure teams on virtualization, containerization, and cloud-based environments.
  • Integrate automation solutions into CI/CD pipelines for efficient, reliable test execution.
  • Manage version control and collaboration workflows using GitHub.
  • Drive testing strategies in Agile environments, ensuring effective sprint delivery and continuous improvement.
  • Act as a project driver—communicating effectively with stakeholders, presenting results, and ensuring alignment across teams.
  • Work across multiple parallel projects in a dynamic, fast-paced environment while maintaining quality standards.

Required Skills & Experience

  • 8+ years of experience in test automation and software development in test.
  • Strong expertise in Playwright, Selenium, Cucumber/BDD, and Java.
  • Proven API automation experience using Karate.
  • Hands-on experience with LLM models, prompt engineering, and AI-assisted automation tools.
  • Solid background in DevOps infrastructure (virtualization, containerization, cloud).
  • Experience with CI/CD pipeline integration and modern DevOps practices.
  • Proficiency in GitHub for version control and collaboration.
  • Strong knowledge of Agile methodologies and ability to influence Agile ceremonies.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to lead initiatives, drive results, and manage priorities in a dynamic environment.
