Job Summary:

We are seeking a Quality Assurance Engineer to join our dynamic team at a leading midsized aerospace and defense fittings manufacturing company located in North Hollywood, CA. As a QA Engineer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the highest quality standards for our precision products that meet or exceed industry requirements and customer specifications. You will work closely with our engineering, production, and quality teams to maintain and enhance the company's commitment to quality, safety, and compliance within the aerospace and defense sectors.


Key Responsibilities:

? Develop, implement, and maintain quality assurance policies, processes, and procedures to ensure all manufactured fittings meet stringent aerospace and defense industry standards.

? Conduct regular quality audits, inspections, and testing to verify conformance to product specifications and regulatory requirements (e.g., AS9100, ISO 9001).

? Identify, document, and resolve non-conformance issues, recommending corrective actions and continuous improvements to prevent recurrence.

? Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Engineering, Production, and Supply Chain) to address quality issues and support product lifecycle development.

? Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) for any identified quality issues or deviations.

? Develop and conduct training programs to ensure all employees are aligned with quality standards and best practices.

? Maintain and update the company’s quality management system (QMS) and ensure proper documentation and traceability of quality activities.

? Prepare quality reports, performance metrics, and documentation to communicate the effectiveness of quality initiatives to management and stakeholders.

? Participate in product design reviews and change control processes to ensure quality considerations are integrated early in the development phase.

? Collaborate with external vendors and customers to address quality concerns and improve product performance.


Requirements:

Qualifications:

? Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.

? 10+ years of experience in quality assurance, preferably in the aerospace, defense, or manufacturing industries.

? In-depth knowledge of quality management systems (QMS), ISO 9001, AS9100, NADCAP and other relevant standards.

? Strong understanding of statistical process control (SPC), Six Sigma methodologies, and root cause analysis techniques.

? Proficiency in quality inspection tools and software (e.g., CMM, Calipers, Micrometers, GD&T).

? Experience with CAD systems and familiarity with blueprint reading and engineering drawings.

? Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.

? Ability to work in a fast-paced, detail-oriented environment with minimal supervision.

? Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

? Knowledge of regulatory requirements and certifications specific to aerospace and defense manufacturing is preferred.


Preferred Qualifications:

? Certification in Quality Engineering (CQE) or Six Sigma.

? Experience with software like Minitab, SAP, or other quality assurance management systems.
