Wafer Outgoing Quality Assurance Engineer

A job at TSMC Arizona offers an opportunity to work at the most advanced semiconductor fab in the United States. TSMC Arizona's first fab will operate it's leading-edge semiconductor process technology (N4 process), starting production in the first half of 2025. The second fab will utilize its leading edge N3 and N2 process technology and be operational in 2028. The recently announced third fab will manufacture chips using 2nm or even more advanced process technology, with production starting by the end of the decade. America's leading technology companies are ready to rely on TSMC Arizona for the next generations of chips that will power the digital future.

TSMC Arizona's Quality & Reliability is responsible for incoming materials and final product quality, process and product qualification, and failure analysis.

Job Description:

Your main responsibilities include:

  1. Establish new outgoing wafer inspection sites to ensure smooth operations and high-quality standards.
  2. Release, maintain, and set up recipes for OQA tools (AVI, OM, Sorter, packing tools, etc.), as well as monitor quality control processes.
  3. Perform wafer defect failure analysis, root cause analysis, and risk assessments to address and resolve quality issues.
  4. Develop and implement OQA quality improvement projects and enhance big data analytical capabilities to drive continuous improvement.
  5. Collaborate with teams to design solutions for yield improvement, defect reduction, and problem-solving in semiconductor processes.
  6. Support AI program development and Machine Learning techniques to improve efficiency and automation in quality inspections.
  7. Manage projects effectively with proactive communication and innovative problem-solving approaches.
  8. Work within advanced cleanroom/manufacturing environments while adhering to safety and quality standards. 

Minimum Qualifications:

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree or above in Engineering, Science, or a related field.
    •   Master's degree is preferred.

Technical Skills:

  • Proficiency in project management methodologies.
  • Familiarity with AI program development and Machine Learning techniques.
  • Semiconductor integration, product, process, or quality engineering experience is a plus.
  • Experience in yield improvement, defect reduction, and problem-solving is a plus.

Interpersonal Skills:

  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Proactive and innovative mindset with good judgment.
  • Collaborative attitude and ability to work effectively in team environments.
  • Resilient and positive demeanor, especially in fast-paced work settings.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to work inside cleanroom/advanced manufacturing environments.

Training:

  • On-the-job training will be provided to ensure alignment with company standards and processes.
