The Journeyman Software Quality Assurance Tester-Engineer supports HRD's mission by developing and executing test plans to ensure the reliability, accuracy, and compliance of software applications. This role identifies defects, documents test results, and collaborates with developers and system analysts to validate solutions and maintain high-quality HR and payroll systems. 

  • Develop and execute software test plans to identify defects and verify system functionality. 
  • Document and evaluate test results, preparing reports for stakeholders. 
  • Conduct regression, performance, and load testing. 
  • Detect, log, and track bugs or program glitches, coordinating with developers for resolution. 
  • Ensure Section 508 compliance through manual and automated accessibility testing. 
  • Integrate testing into Agile development workflows, including participation in design walkthroughs and sprint reviews. 

Requirements

  • 3+ years of software quality assurance or testing experience. 
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Federal government background investigation (NACI). 
  • Experience with automated test tools and frameworks. 
  • Familiarity with regression, load, and performance testing tools. 
  • Knowledge of Agile and DevSecOps testing integration. 
  • Experience with JAWS or other accessibility testing applications.Â
