Job Title: Quality Assurance Engineer

Department: Operations

Reports To: Director of Quality

Location: On-site; Columbia Falls, MT

Position Type: Full Time, Salary, Exempt, IC3/IC4

Job Summary:

The Quality Assurance (QA) Engineer III/IV will implement, execute, and assist in management of the QA system, department, and staff. They will serve as a vital conduit between the manufacturing and engineering organizations, developing and maintaining quality processes, documents, and records. As needed, they will direct and/or execute product and reliability testing.

Supervisory Responsibilities:
  • Trains and supervises quality assurance staff.
Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Develops, implements, and manages processes to ensure that products meet required specifications for quality, function, and reliability prior to delivery.
  • Identifies and sets appropriate quality standards and parameters for products.
  • Communicates quality standards and parameters to QA team, product development team, and other appropriate staff.
  • Participates in quality system maintenance and audits.
  • Coordinates product testing processes and participates in product testing.
  • Identifies and analyzes issues, defects, and other problems, particularly when problems recur in multiple products; recommends and facilitates solutions to these issues.
  • Participates in engineering design, drawing, and data reviews.
  • Provides feedback on engineering data such as tolerance stackup and inspection criteria.
  • Facilitates engineering data releases to production.
  • Designs production fixtures and ensures maintenance and calibration of equipment.
  • Reviews client, customer, and user feedback.
  • Maintains compliance with federal, state, local, and organizational laws, regulations, guidelines, and policies.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements:
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
