Position Description:

This position provides Combat Systems engineering support to the Naval Surface Warfare Center Dahlgren Division, Dam Neck Activity (NSWCDD DNA) in support of the Program Executive Office Unmanned and Small Combatants (PEO USC) and the Littoral Combat Ships (LCS) program.


YOU MUST BE ELIGIBLE TO OBTAIN A DOD SECURITY CLEARANCE


Responsibilities

  • Provide technical and engineering support for tactical and operational interoperability during test and evaluation activities for Atalanta Weapon System (AtWS) builds, including:
    • Documenting all network-related installations and activations
    • Supporting the development of technical artifacts, engineering documentation, and network drawings
    • Assisting in the management and maintenance of lab facilities
  • Support planning and design efforts for the AtWS Advanced Test and Integration Lab (AATIL) infrastructure network, including:
    • Supporting integration and test events
    • Monitoring event logs and conducting audits on infrastructure equipment
  • Provide engineering support in configuring Microsoft OS, Linux OS, ESXi, and Cisco networking devices, troubleshooting, and analyzing with packet analyzers and other DoD-approved tools and methods as needed to complete assigned testing, including:
    • Applying software releases, build updates, and security patches during maintenance windows
    • Upgrading Microsoft, Linux, and security software
    • Conducting regression testing to verify that upgrades and patches have not corrupted the system
  • Conduct DoD cybersecurity scans and compliance checks on Combat Management System servers and network devices on an as-needed basis, including:
    • Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) ACAS scans
    • DISA Security Technical Implementation Guide (STIG) compliance checks

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma and a minimum of 3 years of experience in one or more of the following: Combat Systems Engineering, Mission Readiness Assessments, Software Engineering, or Cybersecurity Engineering
  • Experience with the Microsoft Office Suite (e.g., Project and Excel)
  • Ability to support on-site tasking at Dam Neck Annex
  • Experience supporting secure software delivery and automated deployment processes
  • Experience with AEGIS or other shipboard systems
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite, including Project and Excel

Desired Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience with combat, Navy, and/or shipboard systems
  • Experience with AutoCAD and/or Inventor
  • Experience with the Navy Data Environment (NDE)
  • BS in Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution (7 years of relevant experience may substitute in place of a degree)
