Job description

Overview

Works with team and customer to build and modify software by writing code, debugging and fixing errors and improving performance. Maintains technical documentation and creates release notes for new features. Provides recommendations for applications and enhancements. 

Responsibilities
  • Work directly with clients to support various projects and solutions.
  • Provide architecture, configuration, administration, and functional support to expand capabilities of microservices and apps running in Azure, AWS, and on-prem.
  • Help implement and troubleshoot data ingestion and export workflows using queues, events, and APIs (e.g., Azure Event Grid, queues, KEDA-scaled jobs).
  • Participate in developing and testing microservices and jobs that:
    • Process files and metadata
    • Apply access control logic based on Entra ID/Active Directory
    • Move data between environments (AWS Azure, on-prem Azure).
  • Build software by writing code, as well as modify software to fix errors and/or improve its performance.
  • Participate in developing and testing microservices and jobs that:
  • Basic understanding of relational databases (SQL Server) and the ability to write simple queries and understand tables/relationships
  • Familiarity with containerization concepts (e.g., Podman/containers, images, registries) and why containers are used in modern distributed systems.
  • Willingness to use AI-assisted coding tools (e.g., code completion, refactoring, documentation helpers) in a disciplined way to improve productivity while maintaining code quality and security.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Education/Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field required. Additional experience may substitute for degree.
  • 0-3 years of relevant experience.
  • Knowledge of the software development life cycle; Experience in the analysis, design, development, testing and implementation of enterprise scale apps.
  • Experience working on a variety of software development projects.
  • Experience with C#, HTML, and CSS.
  • Understanding of how to implement solutions with multiple data sources.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance.
  • U.S. Citizenship is required.
  • Must reside within a 75-mile radius of Redstone Arsenal in Huntsville, AL or be willing to relocate prior to starting date.
  • Ability to reliably commute to the office as business needs dictate.
