Job Description:
  • Designs business processes and innovation change initiatives in partnership with the relevant local, global and/or central business departments with great autonomy.
  • Facilitates delivery of IT services to process partners in assigned area of responsibility.
  • Ensures strategic alignment with BMW Group core IT processes.
  • Establishes strong partnerships with both business and IT process partners which culminates into the delivery of sustainable solutions to complex problems.
  • Communicates with BMW Colleagues continuously through direct communications and project results (both small and large).
  • Negotiates agreements with business and support functions in assigned area of responsibility.
  • Seeks to take initiative and proactively pursue duties within assigned space.
  • Mentors other resources on tasks and responsibilities. Develops and builds application tables, panels, programs, and reports for ERP (SAP) based systems and projects in assigned area of responsibility.
  • Troubleshoots and resolves technical issues in assigned area of responsibility.
  • Operates at the highest technical level of all phases of ERP/SAP client/server enterprise application activities.
  • Analyzes existing and future planned initiatives, short, mid, and long- term planning with prioritization of requirements based on local and BMW Group strategy Prepares, facilitates, and sustains the local business prioritization process and the input to the global prioritization process.
  • Ensures effective systems change control, problem management, and incident management; thereby reducing risk, ensuring quality, and business continuity.
  • Ensures the integrity, reliability, and reproduction of our internally and externally developed software products.
  • Ensures the IT security and compliance of both planned systems as well as existing systems under operational control in assigned area.
  • Develops and manages project plans to include defining deliverables, budget adherence, key milestones and critical paths.
  • Reports and manages risks as well as progress of Lead Sagas, Sagas, Epics and User Stories in assigned area of responsibility.
  • Manages efforts to design, develop, train, and deploy systems and procedures for assigned area of responsibility.
  • Ensures target achievement is consistently attained in assigned area.
  • Ensures that all aspects of information protection, data, and systems security pertaining to area of responsibility adhere to BMW Group Policies and architectures.
  • Promotes the use of standard processes and solutions within assigned area of responsibility.
  • Promotes and facilitates the use of the Agile methodology for all initiatives and tasks in assigned area of responsibility.
  • Manages the software integration, external interface development, and technical documentation in assigned area of responsibility.
  • May code individual modules and complex functions in ERP (SAP) systems and applications.
  • Understands and models VPS (Value Added Production System) Principles and concepts of Standard Work and Problem Solving.
  • Adheres to 5S and Safety Standards and Principles.

Qualifications:
  • BA/BS degree in Business, Information Technology, Engineering or the equivalent of 4 years of experience in the management of information technology application development, maintenance and support.
  • 5+ years of demonstrated success in IT or equivalent success in an IT related function.
  • 5+ years of experience planning, analyzing, designing, developing, testing, implementing, operating, documenting and training of IT applications.
  • 5+ years of experience in implementing/configuring IT systems.
  • 5+ years of experience working in a customer service orientated environment.
  • 5+ years of experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
  • 2+ years writing software for enterprise ERP systems in Java/ABAP. N/A E) Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
  • 5+ years knowledge of programming languages - C/ C++, Python, JAVA, HTML, JSP, J2EE, ABAP, SAPUI5/Fiori, SQL, Oracle, UNIX/LINUX (preferred).
