RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Collaborate with software, electrical, mechanical, systems, and controls engineers to develop and integrate new features and system capabilities.
  • Analyze software and system requirements to determine feasibility, performance, and design approach within project constraints.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve software, hardware, and system integration issues in both development and customer environments.
  • Provide design and architectural solutions for new features and system enhancements.
  • Support field issue investigations and work closely with cross-functional teams to identify root causes and implement solutions.
  • Optimize system performance, reliability, and maintainability in complex equipment environments.
  • Exercise independent judgment in developing methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria to achieve project objectives.
  • Work within an Agile/SCRUM development environment utilizing modern software development tools and practices.
  • Must be able to travel up to 20% domestically and internationally.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, or related technical field and 5+ years of professional experience, or a Master's degree and 3+ years of relevant experience.
  • Experience developing software that interfaces directly with hardware components, including sensors, motion control systems, instrumentation, and electromechanical devices.
  • Experience with design, develop, debug, test, and maintain C++ software for advanced semiconductor manufacturing and capital equipment systems.
  • Strong experience developing software applications using C++.
  • Experience with Object-Oriented Design (OOD) and Object-Oriented Analysis (OOA).
  • Experience developing software for hardware-integrated systems, capital equipment, industrial automation, robotics, instrumentation, or other complex electromechanical systems.
  • Experience troubleshooting and debugging complex software and hardware interactions.
  • Experience working in a cross-functional engineering environment

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
  • Strong proficiency in modern C++ software development, including coding, debugging, testing, and performance optimization.
  • Solid understanding of software architecture, design patterns, and object-oriented programming principles.
  • Experience developing software that directly interacts with physical equipment, instrumentation, sensors, motion control systems, automation platforms, or other hardware-based systems.
  • Experience with multi-threaded application development and system-level debugging.
  • Familiarity with real-time or near real-time control systems.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to effectively collaborate with software, electrical, mechanical, systems, and controls engineering teams.
  • Familiarity with software development best practices, including source control, code reviews, issue tracking, testing, and Agile methodologies.
  • Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced engineering environment.
  • Experience supporting or developing software for semiconductor manufacturing equipment, capital equipment, industrial automation systems, robotics, motion control systems, scientific instrumentation, metrology systems, test and measurement equipment, data storage systems, aerospace systems, defense systems, or other complex hardware-integrated platforms.
  • Knowledge of machine automation, sensor integration, equipment communications, embedded systems, firmware development, and hardware/software system integration.

Salary and BenefitsThe expected salary range for this position is $127,656-$170,208, plus a bonus opportunity. We will consider your location, experience, and other job-related factors when determining your pay.
