Job description

We are seeking a LHA Internal Communications Technician/Engineer to join our team, onsite, in Pascagoula, MS. The ideal candidate will support the program by providing hands-on technical expertise, system integration support, and lifecycle assistance for shipboard internal communications (IC) systems. The role ensures system performance, interoperability, and compliance with fleet and program requirements aboard LHA-Class ships.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting for shipboard Internal Communications (IC) systems.
  • Assist with installation, integration, testing, and certification of:
    • IC Switchboard Systems
    • Alarm and Indication Systems
    • AN/STC-4B IVN (Integrated Voice Network)
    • AN/SIA-127H Ship Announcing System (1MC, 2MC, 3MC, 6MC, 10MC)
    • AM/SSC-13 SATCC (Shipboard Air Traffic Control Communications)
    • AN/SRC-55 HYDRA
    • Ship’s Service TV Systems (28TV, 29TV, 30TV, 31TV)
  • Support system architecture verification and interface checks across shipboard communications systems.
  • Participate in reviews, help maintain technical data packages, and support configuration control.
  • Assist in resolving issues during testing, ship integration, and shipboard operational periods.
  • Coordinate with Navy engineering activities, shipbuilders, and vendors to ensure systems meet technical and interface requirements.

Required Education, Skills, and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related technical field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 8–10 years of experience with shipboard or DoD internal communications systems (in lieu of a degree).
  • Strong familiarity with Navy communications architectures and relevant MIL-STDs.
  • Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams, shipboard drawings, and interface control documents.
  • Must have an Active DoD Secret Clearance.

Preferred Skills :

  • Experience with LHA-class ships or other amphibious platforms.
  • Knowledge of NAVSEA systems engineering and shipboard installation processes.
  • Experience in test planning, validation, and certification events.
  • Strong communication and coordination skills.
  • Experience with configuration management and technical documentation tools.
