Job description

Overview

NIWC Atlantic Software Services requires ISHPI to provide emerging Department of Defense (DoD) and Department of Navy (DON) information technology, to design, develop, engineer, and maintain systems that will improve customer organizational efficiency. ISHPI provides support in the areas of Administrative Services, Applications Integration Management, Corporate Strategy Planning and Execution, Information Assurance (IA), Information Resource Management, and Information Technology (IT) Operations. Further task includes new standards engineering, prototype installation, application development, data interoperability, system design, system management and maintenance, data collection, analysis, and other management and implementation efforts in support of data translation, data mediation, and data mapping.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and design requirements for new and existing business systems.
  • Develop, test, and release significant alterations to existing systems, revise or establish new interfaces for existing equipment or software into different applications or platforms.
  • Plan for and execute version upgrades for assigned systems to meet Navy Functional Area Manager Last-Use Dates or other authorized use deadlines.
  • Code and deliver user interfaces as required by the product owners. This will include creating new web applications and modifying existing ones.
  • Create branches and merge code using the source control tools.
  • Code UI of web applications using HTML, CSS and JavaScript.
  • Code using a high level Object-Oriented programming language such as Java or .NET
  • Use an IDE to write new code and debug existing code.
  • Troubleshoot and support web applications across multiple web browsers such as Chrome and Microsoft Edge.
  • Work with other developers in a shared code base using a source control tool such as GIT to version and merge code.
  • Setup, Configure and run web application servers.
Qualifications

Preferred quals and experience: Experience with a collection of software used for graphic design, video editing, web development, photography such as:

  • Adobe Creative Cloud Suite
  • Visio
  • Skills with banners and icons
  • UI/UX background across platforms

Education: Accredited BS degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration or other related discipline. Additional years of experience can be a substitute for BS Degree.

Experience: Five (5) years of experience in required software development technologies. Translated application requirements to fully functional software solutions for the end-user. Participated in design discussions and code reviews. Developed and maintain unit-tests for all coded functionalities. Reviewed code and data for possible security vulnerabilities and maintain safety standards. Assisted in building the database, based on approved design, and industry best practices.

DoD 8570 IAT (Information Assurance Technical) Level II training requirement: Must have at least one of the following: CCNA (Cisco Certified Network Associate Security), CySA+ (CompTIA Cybersecurity Analyst), GICSP (Global Industrial Cyber Security Professional), GSEC (GIAC Security Essentials Certification), CompTIA Security+ CE, CND (Certified Network Defender), or SSCP (Systems Security Certified Practitioner).

Security Clearance: Requires U.S. Citizenship and active DoD security clearance.

Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in Colorado or Washington is $75,000 - $83,000 . Please note that any salary information disclosed is a general guideline only.
