The Engineering Technician is a key position in the Facility Services (FAS) team and is based at a customer facility located in Boise, ID. The Engineering Technician is responsible for accepting, maintaining & optimizing equipment throughout its entire lifespan. This includes, but is not limited to, equipment installation, commissioning, acceptance, start-up and then into sustaining operations, retrofits and ultimately decommissioning and demobilization. The Engineering Technician will collaborate with equipment OEM, internal operations teams and key client stakeholders to ensure safety, accurate operations of the equipment.
Explore your tasks and responsibilities
  • Compliance with customer Equipment Acceptance & Lifecycle protocol and achieving signoff with customer EH&S department and tool owner
  • Technical SOP development and training towards Exentec operations team & client (where required)
  • Setpoint and other controller variable management (e.g., alarm setpoints, conditions, delays, and responses) and processing of Management of Change requests, as applicable
  • System fault-finding, resolution, and evaluation of learnings for cross system implementation
  • System optimization and recommendation / implementation of improvement and upgrading projects
  • Participate in troubleshooting baseline reliability issues, and continually work to improve system uptime
  • Adhere to the company's safety regulations as well as the customer's site regulations and follow all the guidelines
  • System 'Finger printing' to ensure all critical setpoints are checked and maintained
  • Retrofit and modifications projects
  • Software upload / download / backup
  • I/O interface wiring, testing & verification
  • Component 2nd sourcing strategy
  • Input to maintenance planning and execution
  • Red lining of P&ID, Specification, and procedures
  • Job Hazard Analysis preparation and verification
  • Best practice sharing and implementation
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:
  • Trade school qualification, associate degree, or higher
  • Ideally at least 3 years experience in the semiconductor industry, or an equivalent role in a relatable industry

Specific Skills & Knowledge:
  • Electrical / Electronics / Mechanical / Plumbing / Gas / Chemicals / Facility Management
  • Use of basic hand tools, power tools and diagnostic equipment
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Ability to use Microsoft programs such as Word and Excel
  • Ability to Multitask
