Lockheed Martin Space in Huntsville, AL is seeking a highly skilled Associate Manager to perform as an associate manager for the Terminal High Altitude Area Defense (THAAD) Software within the Ground component as a member of the THAAD Fire Control and Communications (TFCC) Team. This position will serve as a functional manager for 5-10 software engineers.
Primary Responsibilities:
• Lead a software team, providing technical leadership to team members
• Develop schedules and management tools to plan, execute, and monitor software development activities
• Lead the team in Agile practices.
Leadership Responsibilities:
• Perform functional leadership responsibilities, including workforce management (re-assignments, placements, recruitment, and selection of new employees, and terminations)
• Personnel management (training, mentoring, career development, performance, and compensation management)
• Collaborate with the THAAD program and the THAAD Ground Software Engineering organization
• Support communications with all levels of employees, customers, and industry, including engineers through executives
Basic Qualifications
--Experience writing software in C++, Python, Rust, or Ada
--Good understanding of software development practices and software process
--Good interpersonal skills and good communication skills, both written and oral
--Demonstrated leadership or leader qualities such as setting strategy, strong communications, and energizing of teams.
--Ability to work independently and develop a strong support network across organizations
--Active DoD SECRET Clearance
--Experience working on teams using Agile practices
Desired Skills
--Knowledge of and experience with the THAAD Fire Control software
--Experience with Linux, Git, Jira, and DevOps
--Experience working with Missile programs
--Security+ Certification
--Previous experience as a software team lead
--Proven ability to interface effectively with different levels of management

Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $120600.00 - $224000.00
