As a Software Engineer III at Walmart, you will lead the design and development of scalable software solutions by collaborating with cross-functional teams including product management and user experience. This role involves troubleshooting complex issues, performing root cause analysis, and driving continuous improvement through coding, testing, and deployment. You will manage project requirements, ensure adherence to quality and security standards, and support business needs by providing technical guidance. The position also includes mentoring small engineering groups and contributing to the advancement of development practices within an agile environment.
About the team:
The Inscape Core Engineering Team develops scalable, resilient, and high-performance software systems that support our cloud-first platform. Collaborating across disciplines, the team designs and optimizes distributed applications and infrastructure to ensure reliability at scale. Utilizing a multi-language technology stack including C/C++, Go, Python, and JavaScript, the team operates primarily on AWS and is leading a strategic migration to GCP. As a Software Engineer III, you will contribute to critical platform components, influence system architecture, and drive initiatives that support Walmart's commitment to delivering exceptional value to customers.
What you'll do:
  • Design, develop, monitor, review, unit test, and deploy code for services
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop high-level designs for small to medium-sized projects.
  • Analyze and troubleshoot business and production issues, performing root cause analysis and implementing solutions.
  • Write, test, and maintain code ensuring compliance with technical and security standards.
  • Manage complex projects by translating requirements into scalable, maintainable technical solutions.
  • Develop automation scripts to support continuous integration and delivery processes.
  • Conduct unit testing and defect management to ensure software quality and reliability.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to small engineering teams, including offshore associates.
  • Monitor application performance and implement maintenance and improvement activities.

  • Good coding skills in C/C+, Python, Go languages.
  • Proven experience in software engineering with strong technical acumen and expertise in object-oriented programming and API design.
  • Ability to deliver scalable, maintainable, and high-availability solutions through iterative and incremental development.
  • Proficiency in Cloud technologies ( AWS & GCP Preferred)
  • Proficiency in debugging, root cause analysis, and troubleshooting complex production issues.
  • Skilled in continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) automation and testing methodologies.
  • Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams including product, project management, and user experience.
  • Strong documentation and coding standards adherence to ensure quality and security compliance.
