Associate Fire Sprinkler Designer

Wiginton Fire Systems is looking for an Associate Fire Sprinkler Designer to join our growing Design team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with fire sprinkler field experience, CAD experience, or a strong technical background who is ready to develop a long-term career in fire protection design.

What You'll Do

As an Associate Designer, you will work alongside experienced fire protection professionals to develop accurate fire sprinkler system drawings and help coordinate projects from design through installation.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Prepare detailed fire sprinkler system drawings using CAD and industry-specific design software.
  • Review architectural plans, specifications, and contract documents to understand project requirements.
  • Participate in pre-design and pre-construction meetings.
  • Coordinate sprinkler system layouts with architects, engineers, contractors, and other trades.
  • Identify potential design conflicts and help develop solutions before they impact field installation.
  • Prepare material lists, submittals, drawings, and other project documentation.
  • Assist with permit and approval submissions to Authorities Having Jurisdiction (AHJs).
  • Support project schedules by completing drawings and design documentation within established deadlines.
  • Communicate with field personnel to ensure designs can be installed safely and efficiently.
  • Make drawing revisions based on project changes, coordination requirements, and field conditions.
  • Prepare as-built drawings and project closeout documentation.
  • Continue developing your knowledge of NFPA standards, fire protection systems, hydraulic calculations, and design practices.

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Strong computer and technical skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with hydraulic calculation software.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to meet company driving requirements when applicable.
