Genesis Technical is seeking an Inside Sales & Application Engineer for a leading industrial pump and equipment distributor. This position is onsite and offers the opportunity to work closely with customers, outside sales representatives, operations, and production teams to provide technical application support, manage customer orders, and ensure successful project execution from quotation through completion.

Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering preferred, or equivalent combination of education and relevant industry experience.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in an industrial distribution, manufacturing, or technical sales environment.
  • Experience with pumps, rotating equipment, fluid handling systems, or municipal/industrial equipment preferred.
  • Experience supporting customers with equipment selection, application engineering, and project coordination.

Technical Skills:

  • Knowledge of industrial pump applications and related equipment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Experience with database software and ERP systems.
  • AutoCAD or similar design software experience preferred.
  • Ability to quickly learn and utilize new software applications.

  • Support inside sales personnel with product application reviews and technical assistance.
  • Coordinate industrial service and repair projects by working closely with customers, outside sales representatives, and shop personnel to define project scope and ensure successful completion.
  • Prepare repair analysis reports and technical recommendations for customers.
  • Generate quotations and process sales orders for industrial and municipal customers as required.
  • Monitor and manage customer orders throughout the sales cycle, ensuring timely completion and customer satisfaction.
  • Review quotations submitted by sales personnel for completeness, accuracy, and proper application of equipment.
  • Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve issues that may impact order fulfillment or project completion.
  • Communicate order status, project updates, and delivery schedules with customers, outside sales representatives, and internal departments.
  • Participate in open-order review meetings, quality reviews, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Assist Operations with order entry overflow and administrative support as needed.
  • Support purchasing activities, including purchase order creation, verification, and follow-up.
  • Collaborate with Operations, Production, and Service teams to ensure customer expectations are met and project objectives are achieved.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation related to quotations, orders, repairs, and customer communications.
  • Support company objectives by providing exceptional customer service and technical expertise throughout the sales and project execution process.
