Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in information systems or a related field.
  • 8+ years of experience in cybersecurity.
  • Certified Information Systems Security Professional, Certified Information Systems Auditor, or a related certification.
  • Strong experience in multiple security technologies and methodologies.

Job Summary
Establishes and maintains security needs for the organization. Designs, configures, integrates, and implements information systems security infrastructure, including the installation and configuration of firewalls, intrusion detection systems, antivirus software, and vulnerability scanning systems.
Major Tasks, Responsibilities, and Key Accountabilities
  • Designs and develops new systems, applications, and solutions for enterprise-wide cyber systems and networks.
  • Ensures threats and vulnerabilities to business systems and applications are minimized through system security testing, vulnerability scanning, and security configuration reviews.
  • Manages encryption protocols to protect company data, including evaluating information security intrusions and monitoring the effectiveness of security changes.
  • Conducts periodic security audits to ensure compliance with regulatory and privacy laws.
  • Develops policies and procedures to prevent unauthorized infrastructure access and provides guidance and direction on best practices for information protection.
  • Provides training and delegates tasks to lower-level security engineers.
  • Performs technical analyses and interpretations of computer-related evidence, such as e-mail, accounting software, databases, and information stored on electronic devices.
  • Develops attack and defense methodologies for high risk computer networks, including writing scripts and developing software utilities to automate security analyses.

  • Displays the highest level of critical thinking and analysis in bringing successful resolution to high-impact, complex, and/or cross-departmental problems. Makes prompt, sound decisions when faced with complex and often contradictory alternatives that result in successful outcomes.
  • Operates with considerable latitude. Situations may have little or no precedent requiring original or new concepts or approaches without guidance from others. Reaches decisions under conditions of uncertainty.
  • Develops or engages/directs others in developing innovative solutions to important, highly complex strategic and operating problems; cross-departmental considerations are often present.

Work Environment
  • Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.
  • Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.
  • Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time.

Education and Experience
  • Typically requires BS/BA in a related discipline. Generally 8+ years of experience in a related field OR MS/MA and generally 5+ years of experience in a related field. Certification is required in some areas.
