Job description

Ignite Digital is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Engineering/Scientist IV to support a US Navy software maintenance project. The ideal candidate will bring deep technical expertise, strong experience in software maintenance, and a proven background supporting complex DoW solutions. This role requires a professional who thrives in Agile environments and is committed to continuous technical growth.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide senior-level engineering and scientific support to the project.
  • Perform complex software maintenance activities across US Navy-related systems and solutions.
  • Support development, enhancement, and sustainment of software applications within DoW C4ISR, logistics, maintenance, or other relevant operational environments.
  • Apply Agile software methodologies and principles in daily development, maintenance, and integration tasks.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot, improve, and optimize software systems.
  • Prepare technical documentation, participate in design reviews, and ensure compliance with project and DoD standards.
  • Work closely with leadership, stakeholders, and the COR to meet mission objectives.

Required Qualifications:

Education
Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in one of the following fields:

Software Engineer or Computer-Related Degrees Only:
Candidate must be working toward one or more of the following (to be completed within 1.5 years of assuming duties), unless COR-approved alternatives apply:

  • Experience with DoW C4ISR, logistics, maintenance, or business systems strongly preferred; other relevant industry experience supporting complex enterprise solutions may be accepted with COR approval.
  • Demonstrated experience executing Agile software methodologies and principles.
  • All required experience may be achieved simultaneously.

Clearance:

  • Active Department of the Navy (DoN) SECRET clearance required.
  • Candidates without the required clearance cannot be considered.

Salary: $120k+ to align with education & experience
